Finetuning my shocker
Okay, I have just become a proud Shocker owner, but my shocker isn't being very lively toward me.
Today I decided to chrono my shocker so I strapped on my hopper with some paint and went out to do so. Well, just like the proto I have, all that my shocker wants to do is push balls passed my detents. I turned up my CP reg thinking that could be the cause, well, it starts to shoot...inconsistentally and with an incredible amount of kick.
I could really use some help with this problem!

Your operation pressure is too high that will create the kick and inconsistancy, turn down your regs pressure and if you can lube it. Make sure that the bolt/firing can/sleeve/bolt guide are lubed well as well as your noid. www.zdspb.com will have everything that you need on how to tear it down.

Do you have a guage on your gun? What's your dwell (and bolt kit and solenoid)?

Well what your saying about the bolt only making the ball go passed teh detents is DWELL
You need to up your dwell to about 50-60 if you have a humphrey (silver noid) and i don't know about the parker (black noid) your operating pressure needs to be at 190-200
This is all with a stock setup(aluminum bolt)
Remember, Cp reg, counter clock-wise = increase in pressure clock-wise= decrease in pressure
Thanks.

Not necessarily. It could just be bad bolt stick and just needs to be lubed.

It could also be his hopper... if you are running the Reloader B change your settings *sorry don't remember what it is called* so that it is not forcing paint in too fast.

No, unfortunately I don't, but I need to do that sometime. Right now my dwell is at 18 chirps, I have just a stock 05 bolt kit and a thump noid.

I was using a Halo B, it was pushing the paint through my detents.
I recently checked my noid because of leaks and there was nothing wrong with it and it was properly lubed.
I might need to get my hands on an o-ring kit so I can replace some of the o-rings because I don't know when the last time they were changed out, but when I got it, the person that owned it before me seemed to have dipped the bolt kit into a vat of lube and through it back into the gun.

Oh, Darkassailant, that link you gave me in your first post in this thread really helped me learn a few things about my shocker.

Anytime.... btw 18 chirps is WAY to low even for a parker noid... I don't know what you mean by thump noid... unless you typoed "Hump" then put your dwell at 50 chirps.

Yea, it was a typo...alright, the reason it is so low is because I read somewhere that it is stock at 18...I bet that's what's up.

18 chirps, that's like 4 1/2 ms you gun shouldn't have even worked... You may have misread it, I think they ment 18ms...

Alright I did everything you said so far (except lubing the bolt again) and it sounds like it should. We'll find out if all is well when I put paint through it tomorrow.

Dude, my shocker is up and running! Yay, I'll be able to practice this weekend. Thanks to everyone that helped me out!
I relubed and really really really good...man, the previous owner didn't know what he was doing cause it was nasty when I took the front wall thing out. I cleaned everything up real good and lubed it nicely, reset my dwell to 50 chirps, and now it's up and running.

your gun will work at 18 chirps, but in order for it to your operating pressure would have to be through the roof. Thats what gave you the kick and inconsistency. Good luck and welcome to the family.
