Final Moments

Hopefully I didn't buy into the hype, but I got a borg on the way. Should be here today. These guns seem flawless, but then again, everyone is getting rid of them, it seems. I took a risk because my home field (www.santaclarapaintball.com) is timmy country. (pretty much)

hopefully all will be well with my blue to black fade, rocking a 04 'quest and soon to ditch the matchstick with a st!ff! barrel.

No hype with Cyborg. But Im sure youre plenty full of hype being around so many timmys. Couple things you may need to do right off the bat tho. First check the Gladiator o-ring, infact best to make sure, call PBK and have a replacment sent. Next, before you air it up the first time, Id suggest you tear it down, clean it and relube it.By this I mean the LPR, Vert reg, Ram and hammer. By doing this, like hollywood said in another post, you get familiar with you marker and get to check for issues before they get worse. The 200psi on the vert reg really isnt realistic. I have mine set to about 240 as does the other 2 borg owners I met this weekend. With it set there adjust your LPR from there to get you FPS to whatever. Hope that helps.

personally i think that way is sorta odd for setting velocities..i think it would make more sense to adjust the lpr to a certain pressure then adjust the hpr ... but thats me so.. thats whaat im gonna do when i get my ram guage.. but for u since ur starting with it.. just do as hamered said and u will be fine.. and i wouldnt suggest airing it up if u dont have the revised gladiator oring..

thanx hammered, couldn't have put it better myself. joehack98, i'd hate for you to air up the borg from all the excitement and pop the glad o-ring. althogh a slim chance, your glad could have the softer o-ring. i'd strongly suggest contacting PBK and asking them nicely to send you a harder inner retainer o-ring (008/90), BEFORE you air up your cyborg. once you replace that o-ring, go nuts... after lubing it up that is . also, i wouldn't swear off the matchstik before you've even had a chance to play with it. i've never used a stiffi, but thus far i'm very impressed with the matchstik. *shrug* as for the hype, i never heard any hype pertaining to the cyborg (???). is it going to make you play like 3 titans? nope. will it amaze you with it's function, low maintenance, ease of use, and simplicity? well if it doesn't, tell me what does cos i'd love to know as for the people selling their cyborgs, that's a very small percentage of borg owners who are doing so. and of that small percentage, 95% want to trade for a DM4... why? because people have heard of it, because it's a symbol of status, because apparently you are an awesome player if you have one. *shrug* see how many people are getting rid of their DM4's? i'm not a psychic, but i think you'll have a good time with the borg. sorry for rambling, but i'm at work and trying to keep myself busy

they don't "continue" to sell em with bad o-rings, it's just that some went out with a bad batch of the inner retainer o-rings. was a big deal when people weren't warned about it and the *POP* but now thanx to the internet and todays educational system, people can read forums like these and be aware of such occurrences

Well if you dont want to wait, you can head down to the local plumbing store and pick up a 008/90 o-ring Tell them its Nitrile and youre golden. These are exactily what the marker makers use and these are what you would get in a rebuild kit anyway. This should save you some time. infact call ahead so youre not wasting time driving.
