Iran's defense minister just told Al-jazeera that they will "pre-emptively strike US forces" to prevent an attack on thier nuclear programs. Heh. This chess game with "W" has only yet begun.


"DOHA (Qatar) - Iranian Defence Minister Ali Shamkhani has warned that Iran might launch a pre-emptive strike against United States forces in the region to prevent an attack on its nuclear facilities.

Not that the two arguments are at any way involved with each other, but picture it like this.
You and I are neighbors, and my other neighbor thinks you have a basement full of dynamite. So I break into your house and kill you and anyone else that gets in my way. Then I don't find any dynamite.
See, in my America it is only proper etiqutte to shoot people when they cross your "No Trespassing" sign, not pre-emptively break into their house and kill them and their families out of paranoia. So, yes reasonable conclusions can be reached that Iran is threating us because of Bush.
Hell even if they didn't 'like' you in the first place they might have good reasons, doesn't matter a goddamn till They invade.

No, it's not Bush's fault that the Iranians have nuclear materials, but he did set a precedent of a preemptive defense policy. The US attacked Iraq based on a threat they might pose in the future, the Iraqis was taking no agressive action against the US or allies when the war started. The point being made was that the Iranians are merely threatening to use Bush's own justification for the war in Iraq against the United States.

I doubt if they'll do it though, it would really be suicide on their part. The Iranians are just posturing and making threats in an attempt to get Bush to back off on his insistance that they shut down their nuclear programs. If the United States was really willing to commit the manpower and resources to it, wiping out most of the people in Iran wouldn't be much of a stretch of its military capabilities.
