Oh ****in' a you knew what I meant. When typing, I said something about the French revolution but the backspace took care of that because I didn't like the way it came out.

comparing a capitalist system to a monarchy is like comparing apples to oranges.

The problem with the Robber Barons at the turn of the century solved itself. With the introduction of the car and the growing popularity of mass transportation, people were no longer stuck in a town with one employer who could exploit them. They could move freely and gain employment elsewhere thus forcing employers to pay their workers better as an incentive for them to stay.

The formation of Organized Unions helped the workers back then too, they forced employers to increase pay and improve working conditions or business owners would have to deal with a workers strike.

Later on laws were passed to help protect workers, and OSHA was created to improve work conditions.

So you see capitalism is a dynamic system it not only is used to generate money but fosters competition which brings about changes and improvements.

Twich is right Louis was the King of France

Dude, you're good. You should get a job on the Daily Show. I'm not being sarcastic. I mean it as a genuine compliment.

You know as soon as Lothrop enters the thread with nonsensical statements, the thread is long past dead.

Lothrop is like the Grim Reaper of the politics forum.

Get it in the kidney. That usually stops anything dead in its tracks. No pun intended.

**** you. most poor i people know work twice as hard as any rich ******* did. people dont get rich because they work hard, they get rich because they expliot people, kiss ***, and get lucky. also not everybody has the same opporitunity. most rich people had rich parents. the problem with capitalism is it isnt fair. the kids born in china dont have 1/2 a chance people do in america. same goes for the most of the world. sure none of you care because you are not that kid, but that is very selfish of you.

i dont think capitalism is a good idea, however many regulations are put on it it will just take control, like it has. it is built on the idea of competition, but i think a much more successful and efficient system could be based on cooperation.

Promises, promises...

Since neither of us knows who between us actually knows more poor people, I won't press the issue. Most of the ones I know, however, are lazy, stupid, and/or held back by bad choices. As far as the rich people go, none of them that I personally know got there by exploiting anyone. Perhaps you can give me an example. When you do you please don't tease me with talk of sex that you're not going to give me.
