Yeah Andy is Right, if you put 9V on the supply pin it will output 9V. You need a voltage regulator to regulate the battery voltage back down to 5V.

Unfortunately I haven't. I have been thinking about it a bit, but I never found anything just yet, as my time has been limited over the last few days (or I should say months).

I got it to work finally!!! From the trigger pin i put a small capacitor to one side of the push button and the other side hooked up to the ground. So when the switch was activated it grounded pin 2 for a couple of milliseconds before the capacitor started charging. Once the capacitor starts charging it brought the trigger pin back to the idle state so there would be no chance of having an inaccurate dwell time.
