I'll be able to answer that question for you in a little while. I love my Boomsticks, but I'm anxious to test the Freak waters as well.

I think you'll see very similar accuracy when using the same ammo, if the freak has a boomer size insert in it, but if you ever end up at some middle of nowhere hillbilly field that requires field paint only(ususally cheap pmi but x2 the normal cost) then the freak, with all its inserts, will come in handy. If you know you'll always be able to use your own paint where you play at and never plan on playing anywhere else then save money with the boomstick.

I like the Freak and I plan on getting one pretty soon, but I have noticed one thing - it makes bad paint much worse. I'm not sure why but with inconsistant cheap paint my Boomstick kept flinging the paint in maybe a 12" radius, but the Freak looked like it was shooting with broken paint. My friend hasn't really used cheap paint since, but it might be something to consider. IMHO, the benefits of the Freak, and the relative cost, outweigh any of the downsides.

The freak or boomer will be equally accurate with a correct paint to barrel match. The only way the freak could be more accurate is if your shooting a bore size other than .688. Then the freak will be more accurate because you could change the insert size. If you had a boomstick set though, you would be equally happy, You could match paint just as good. I suggest getting the freak if you don't want to buy a variety of barrels.
Just back into the sport after being out of it for five years....my how things have changed
