Edit x2- Just for the record do you believe in God or a god?
Your right it is just a theory, but so are most of the things today that involve science, nothing is 100% sure, but there are things that are tons more likely than others.

How can you say that when you havn't even read anything on the subject, I havn't stated any evidence for it. Cultural Relativism is FALSE, if you are choosing to believe there are no absolute moral truths fine, but cultural relativism is just straight up wrong. Please do your research before you choose to believe in a bogus theory.

http://www.cnu.edu/phil/carr/JR-2.htm (this gives a few examples of moral truths.)

If you aren't going to read the book, at least read that. God talk about lazy.

I dont believe in either, Im agnostic. I dont think there is suffecient evidence either way to make a call.

Actually i did read that site and ive been reading alot on the topic lately but i still dont believe that something like morals can be absolute. And you have yet to give me an example of a moral that is absolute in all cases.

Read all the articles I posted, and since you are showing some interest in these topics, I recommend reading the book as well. It isn't just about Cultural Relativism, you'll learn a lot of pretty slick stuff in it.

The last article should answer most of your questions.

Just finished reading the last article...Good stuff.

Man have we gotten horribly off topic. Anyways, Prostitution should be legalized and anyone who believes otherwise is a doodoohead.

I refuse to read the dribble in the thread, but here is my quick two cents:

The problem isnt the act itself, its the other acts that normally accompany prostitution. Most hookers are drug addicts, have STDs and have been previously convicted of many, many other smaller offenses. Hookers arnt the girls you see in porn videos, movies and tv. They are for the most part low-life ugly, nasty, mean people. They arn't trying just to earn a living, they are trying to earn money to pay for their drugs or the shakedown money from their pimp.

So why not legalize it and force them to get STD checkups or drug testing?

Because it would cost too much money. Why take something that makes the governtment money (i.e. fines and bail from arrests) and turn it into something that cost the government money and at the same time would never really be implimented well because of a huge beauracracy that would have to be formed?

This is why democrats screw stuff up. Sure, it sounds like a good idea with good intentions but would never really work and just create more problems.

It works fine in Nevada. By the way can you put any evidence behind your statement that "most" hookers are drug addicts and blow all their money on narcotics? Sounds like a stereotype to me. Im sure some are, a lot probably are. But Most is most likely a stretch.

How would legalizing something create a huge beaurocracy? You wouldn't need a beauracracy to legalize something. As a matter of fact you could cut costs by getting rid of some police. Taxing it would create more money than fines would.

If fines and bails are so good for the government, why not make tobacco, and alchohol illegal? ****, thats money out the *** in fines.

What a dumb arguement. Legalizing and taxing something would cost MORE money. Not to mention the fact jails would be less crowded.

This is why republicans screw stuff up. Because they're stupid.

Note: I'm just being facetious.
