Lightbulb GTA Paintball League

I was just wondering if people think a paintball league could work in the Toronto Area. How players and field owners can organize and run it. I think that it would work if we could find a fair price and a commitment from a field owner. Let me know.

Thanks Pete

Ya you may also have some competiton from Paintball Maddness in Oshawa they run a 3 man series with about 8 events in the summer aswell. Champions Zap events seem pretty good this year and may get a couple more teams considering all the travel costs associated with playing the GTPL. It may be better to look at producing a quality 5 man series, I know my team would be more interested

Cheers,
Shawn

As was said, Champions does their series and Maddness has 12 tournaments this year including some 2 on 2 "toughguy" tournies and some 1 on 1 "iron man" ones as well. I know Area51 (in Toronto) just finished up a 3 series tourny in which team Phallic Symbols won registration to 2 GT tournies during the summer (not sure if paint is included with that).

If you're looking for toronto area things check out this site, it's Toronto area based. www.thetrpc.com

That's how I got to this site, through that one.

The type of league I am talking about would run like a hockey or baseball league. You sign up your 3 or 5 man team and you play once every two weeks or so. The season could last 2 or 3 months depending on the number of teams you have sign up. You would have divisions like raw rookie, rookie etc. I think this could work because I always see the same people at the fields. This also gives the sport a chance for growth because it shows that it is an organized sport, then we can go after goverment funds to promote the game so when it is an olympic sport we can take that gold too. Parents will also alow their kids to play because once again it is organized and parents like to know where their kids are and what they are doing.
