FPS consistency liars?
Ok first off based just on my experience with my markers, friends', and other peoples; I think that anyone who says they get +-1, 2 or whatever over the chrono is lying.
Everygun I have owned get around +-10 or more, every once in a while there will be a freak couple shots where its 1 or 2 off from the other.
Now my dm4, was always about +- 10. I was told slick honey will help that. I cleaned and lubed everything with slick honey, bolt, hyper2, and lpr. Played today....surprise 292, 280, 289, 295, 282 etc. etc.
Now is there something I am doing wrong?
Is everyone not telling the truth when it comes to the chrono?
Is that consistency even attainable?

well i'm telling you i'm not ;ying my imp used to be +-1, 2. Now i've finally gotten my timmy to do the same. I have a few questions first how many shots have you put through it. Second what type of barrel/ barrel kit do you have. And finally what kind of paint do you use. My teamate uses a hammerhead barrel kit, draxxus paint and has put at least 30 cases through his dm4 and he also gets +- 1,2

probably 25+ cases or so
stock UL
have used probably 10 kinds of paint - all with same results
but even with other guns which I used a pipe, edge, freak kits its never that good.

wouldnt your results be considered +-5 not 10 since you would be chronoed at an average of 287 and have + 5 for a reading of 292 or -5 for 282? That how i always thought it was.

My Twisted Dragun (1 of a kind Dragun used by the M3 Factory Team which I had the electropneumatic kit on etc, with a Sidewinder Reg) used to shoot +/- 1. I have the DM4 rite outa the box shoot +/-2... If you get the rite setup of paint to barrel match, Blaze works great outa the UL, and the HPR and LPR at the rite pressures it will b pretty damn consistent. U just gotta play around. I got lucky rite away... Ive since changed the LPR so Im not sure and I wanna get Slick Honey. Cleanin it often is key too.

Right out of the box, my DM4 shot +/-1 not kidding. I accidently stripped the screw that controls how far the on/off will open though. It can't open all the way, so now I am getting +/-10. I don't feel like spending 30 bucks to send my DM4 to DYE if it isn't completely broken.

I shot blaze 2 weeks ago, wasn't much better.
And from what I figured +-1 meant was each shot you take is either +-1 from the previous shot. such as 290, 291, 290, 289, 288, 288, 289, etc.

make sure your lpr is set, theres a reason why Dye recommends 5 turns out. LPR directly effects efficiency.

I had +- 10 with the hyper two with my cp i am getting +- 3 but most of the other people on the team are getting close to +- 4 with the hyper two. Make sure your chrono has good batts in it, that will make the velocity look less erratic, and keep the barrel on the black peice and keep the gun level. That should give you the most accurate chrono numbers.

Unless you are using great paint, its probably the paint that is causing it. BTW Ted, Im giving the Dm4s a whirl, though I still have my feather excal. I cant live without at least one AKA

I usually get grouping of 295, 295, 296, 297, but then it'll jump around +-5. As long as your +-5 you're fine.
