ironyusa's collection

Top: BL VIS, BL Insight
Mid: MacDev Clone GT
Bottom: Luxe ICE, Shocker RSX

Notes: These are all pretty basic markers. Most are bone stock.

Top: NIB Proto SLG
Mid: NT11 (custom internals), Valken Proton, Machine Vapor
Bottom: Etha 2, 2 project SLGs

Notes:
-The NT11 project is documented pretty well here: http://www.pbnation.com/showthread.php?t=4109865 It can shoot super fragile tournament paint that'll break from knee high.

-One of the SLGs has been converted to a mech with a mechanical sear. The other is undergoing a similar conversion.

Top: Dye DAM, PGI FROG
Mid: ICD Alley Cat, RIZE Maxxed (project), Airstar Nova 700
Bottom: Empire Ressurection (project), WGP MG7, Zap ZXS 700e

Notes:
-PGI FROG is a Field Rental Only Gun version of a mayhem. It is really a terrible implementation, but the valve arrangement is interesting to me. More info here: http://www.zdspb.com/tech/frog/index.html

-ICD Alley Cat: this gun has an incredibly unique vertical poppet valve arrangement. It's a blowback marker, but is the most interesting implementation of that basic design. The reg up front is hollow and is used as additional volume for the poppet chamber so it can be run on HPA.

-Rize Maxxed: this one is getting a unique mech treatment... a MSV-2 (normally closed) will be used to pilot a PAVO-3 (normally open) valve. A check valve will be used on the shot chamber fill side, effectively mimicking the ICSIS circuit. Something like this is what I have in mind:

Should be a fairly walkable mech and will not use the front tail oring on the bolt... well, I am messing with a bolt design in here too.

-Airstar Nova700: Similar design to the PGI FROG, but has an articulating barrel. More details here: http://www.zdspb.com/tech/nova/nova700tech.html

-Empire Ressurection: Waiting on a custom valve for this one.

- Zap ZXS600E: Perhaps one of my favorite guns in the collection... It is the OG lever valve. Yes, it is the original lever valve marker! The poppet is vertical in the foregrip and the bolt is actuated as a FASOR. This likely died out due to poor quality, but the design is awesome.

Top: Nova 700 with custom barrel, Sovereign 3
Bottom: Hostile Rogue, Air Challenger EG808

Center: GMEK (now that the project is public)

Top: Etek 5 (project), M2 MOS AIR
Bottom: Axe

Notes:
-Etek 5: This actually has a custom valve I designed several years ago. I turned the design over to someone who was supposed to bring it to market and they didn't. It runs at the same pressures as the LV1 and actually required a new LPR spring. Shoots super soft and is my field loaner gun.

-M2 MOS AIR: This one is my baby. Using the orings documented here: http://www.pbnation.com/showthread.php?t=5465514. Shoot super soft and feels perfect in hand.

Wanted: War Machine Assault 80, Lurker Paragon, Air Power Vector, ICE Epic, Armson Semi or Sheridan/PMI equalizer, guns with interesting designs (make recommendations)

I am interested in guns with unique valves or completely unique operation or just really refined implementation.

Don't Want: Most Montneel valve guns

Can't be said without having Southern Pneumatics Phoenix, though that is interesting more for the sake of interesting. ICE Epic markers are interesting as well, similar vein to some of the markers already on your list.

I am familiar with the ICE epic and have tried to snag a few.

I've never even heard of the phoenix, but things like the rotary breech and the original alien featuring the trap door aren't super cool to me. In most cases, those things are novelty for the sake of novelty. It's cool to learn about these things though!

edit: The SLGs are so strange. They can shoot decent 1 time and not at all the next. The mech SLG works pretty well, but I don't love the dye sear design. They ran into the exact same problem as most nelson valve based semi's. The sear latching isn't very reliable. Why they chose to implement a sear design similar to the worst performing semi's we'll never know. ATS did something pretty cool on the AT line... they used an opposing lever to help the sear: (assuming I'm looking at it correctly)

That type of solution to a real problem at the time is really cool to me.

I had a 09 SLG and ****ing hated the thing. Never could get it to work. Interesting reading that NT thread. I think NTs are probably the best looking guns ever made. That one you have looks sweet. I always heard nightmares about how they shot though. Crazy you got one to shoot such brittle paint. Always enjoy reading your posts I generally learn something lol.

LOL, SLGs don't have the best reputation. They are cheap and make fun project guns though. I do agree about NTs being extremely nice looking... they're comfy and shoot nice too. They're just kind of finicky which seemed to plague dye markers around that time. I think it was some of the same designers. Contrary to sometimes popular belief, I do try to help the community whenever I can. I LOVE designing stuff, so I really get a lot of enjoyment out of paintball gun engineering too and that includes looking at other people's designs.

I own the lurker valve... It's actually in my drawer. The valve that's in the ETEK 5 is almost identical in function, but was made to be a drop in. I am running a ucup on the balancing side of mine and it gives it a much better service life.

I have considered making parts for BL, but I'm making full bolt kits now and BLs aren't usually my preferred mules.

The at85 uses a standard Nelson valve.. the lever that you said assists the sear is actually a mechanical 2way for a ram that drives the hammer forward once it hits it.
