You may have trouble getting on the Tama field if you have a Malaysian passport. While convenient to the Tokyo area, it is on a U.S. military recreation area, and certain countries' citizens are denied access. Maybe somebody can check this out (Marc? Joe? Kanda-san?) and post up?

If you have no luck there, there is a well-equipped (but small) field in Mie-ken. which is a pretty good drive / train ride from Tokyo. There is also a field in Nagano, but I'm sure they are closed for the winter as it's at a ski resort.

If you have further questions, feel free to ask. And welcome to Japan!

I asked the staff last Saturday, but seem not to be able to enter Tama in the Malaysian passport.

Sorry,

Grandmaster D and Facelock, thanks for the heads up. Tama is definitely no go for me. So alternatively, the field in Mie-ken would be available. Anyway, how about equipment? I got my jerseys, but sold of my markers before i left for tokyo. Can we buy markers in tokyo? Do you guys still playing pball in this weather (winter)? Thanks in advance.

Joe runs the field out by Yokosuka, at Ikego. I suggest you contact him directly for directions. He goes by "spreck" here on PbN.

When I got to Japan last year in may I talked with with MWR about paintball for zama they told me "we will be putting a field up at depot and should be ready by Aug". This was last year I was just out at depot yesterday and I think they might have just started to put the polls in the ground for the netting. They will not have woods ball tho its going to be PSP style it looks like. I have to get in contact with MWR again and see if they have a set time on if or when the field will be done. I am stationed here on Zama. When I get updates I will post here!!! =)

Have not played yet. Field opening is the 14th and 15th of Aug. I have been out there and MWR has done a ok job so far. They still could do a bit better by removing the rocks they had. They also don't really have a staging area. But other then that it looks like it will be a pretty good field.

I played at Zama MWR during their opening weekend. Like Ocheiit said they lack a staging area and need to clean up the rocks on the field. The staff don't have much paintball knowledge but they're open up to suggestions on how to better improve the facility. I like the fact that they are open on Saturdays and Sundays unlike Tama which is only open on Sat. I basically plan on playing at Tama on Saturday and going down to Zama on Sundays. Zama has needs a few improvements (like removing the rocks from the field), but overall has a potential to be a great field.
