I guess this is a question for sniper1rfa.
I've just recived my Mayhem (#578, they have not been a hot seller) and when I shoot it expells lot's of air (and oil) under the sight rail. I guess they are expelling excessive pressure. Is there a way wo fix this?
I guess that all that vented air is what causes the inefficiencies that (regarding what people write in this forum) has plagued the Mayhem. I was wondering. Why should it had to vent air? Shouldn't lowering the pression be a more reasonable solution?
I'm thinking about putting another regulator or something. Do you have any suggestion?
PD: I also have an Osiris, what is the optimum pressure for the Inline regulator so it doesn't kicks?
I do admit that I didn't understood how the Mayhem worked when I made this question. I was thinking of the excess pressure valve of the Nova. All the information from the Nova I have is from internet articles. And I had read that it had a valve to expunge the extra pressure from the the CO2 when the regulator didn't worked prefectly. I thought the Mayhem had the same feature.
Now I think I understand the nature of the Mayhem spool much better. The fact that the Mayhem and Nova are complete different beasts was of no help, though.
I do have to admit, that the way the spool works in the Mayhem is noisy. And trying to solve it rendered the marker unoperable. 100% my fault (I stripped the to thread of the back body). But I do think that the robustness of the body should have been improved somewhat.
As I've already stated in other thread, in two monthes or so, I hope to have an upgraded Mayhem to bury this bad impression I've left here.
