ahhh i am not sure of what u are talking about but this gun is mostly plastic...it was 60 dollars...i will show u pic i got off the site...now who makes it, point zero and winchester, and Zap has their hands in on it as well. i gave mine a trigger job and put better springs in it and took the pump part off a talon and mounted it on the gun, it looks pretty cool.

wel me and my friends play rec ball alot and the one dude wanted to play realllly realllly bad so he resorted to using a talon...and he was getting his azz kicked, so we were at a store that sells paintball stuff looking for ball haulers and seen this gun for 60 bucks and picked it up for him so teams will be alittle more even, anywho i already emailed winchester about the barrel threads, they dont make an aftermarket barrel and are looking into making one, BUT...i dont know if u ever heard of BOA barrels...they said they prolly could make one, and thier barrels are the greatest! they are emailing me to tell me if they can make one. i will let u know as soon as they email me.

Thumbs down

Model 83 (negatives)
there is a few draw backs to the gun...the trigger pull is heavy and rather long, although its easy to do a trigger job on it...i did and it is a lot better than the original configuration...another thing is its LOUD!!! compared to most guns. as far as internals its got a plastic bolt...although if u toy with a spyder bolt u might be able to get a spyder rear cocking bolt to work in it...u have to shave down the bolt a little and where it has the metal thing that stick out of it that connects to the piece below if u can find a way to make that longer the bolt will work...i havent tried it yet and wouldnt recomend it, let me screw with it first. and of corse as for the barrel BOA is seeing if they can make a barrel for it. no after market barrels are made for it...and no are known to be compatable.

Thumbs up

Model 83 (postives)
there are some good things about the model 83, it is light wieght, comes with rear cocking, rear velocity adjuster, and raised sight rail, depending on what level of he gun u get it may come with bottom line and quick disconnect. it doesnt have many up grades but i now how do a simple trigger job on it and soon enought there will be a few upgrades for it. it is a fairly good gun for someone just getting into the game. it doesnt take any tools to strip, just take out a few pins and u can take it apart. the internals are similar to the spyder but not exactally compatable. it is a low cost semi-automatic maker with good features.

Well, actually they are the same as the older Tigershark barrel threads. So you can actually get the EagleWorks barrels and a few others, but I would highly go with your reccomendation for BoA. I did that on my Nephews M83 that I got him and it is solid. Pit it up against my Niece's BE Samurai (already dead) He has logged well over 4 weeks worth of games with it compared to her 3 games total! Just wanted to make a good point with similarly priced and marketed guns. If you guys want to... You can do a subscription to PB2X for $20 and get the M98 for $20. Pretty bad ***.

(On a side note... Sub scribe to P8nt Mag for $40 and get a free copy of Push too.)

the old 'rays don't have threads on the barrel, they're held in by plastic "pins"

Lightbulb Model 83s

Are basically the same as Point Zeros and those Winchester guns. I am pretty sure that the Model 83s don't use threads from any other gun. My field rents Point Zeros, and the threads on those aren't like anything else.

I suggest saving up $30 more and getting a Pirahna VT or a Spyder Compact. The 83/Point Zero/Winchester is made almost entirely of very cheap grade plastic and all the ones I've seen have had major problems.
