Looks like Empire is releasing an Axe 2.0...
Saw this on their website while looking for the phantom Vanquish colorways I saw this morning...

The Empire Axe changed the game with its combination of pro level performance and incredibly competitive price, and the Axe PRO pushed that envelope even further with improved functionality and a more attractive look!

Empire’s latest version has now arrived, and the Axe 2.0 is ready for prime time, featuring a proven, reliable pressure controlled poppet engine that removes with the push of a button for cleaning and service, externally serviceable anti-chop breakbeam eyes, a Shockwave board with multiple, adjustable firing modes, a Relay venting regulator with an on/off lever, hose-free air, a wrap-around foregrip that accepts the OLED Redline board upgrade, a two-piece Driver XX barrel and a full ten percent weight savings over the previous generation model.

Improved in almost every way, the Empire Axe 2.0 offers impressive performance and updated features at a price that any player can afford!

The new Axe is confirmed to be lighter.

Here's a picture of the new 2.0 next to the older classic Axe.

I hate to be that guy, but it looks like they combined the Mini GS and the original Axe. Pricing is similar to the original Axe.

In the grand PBN tradition:

Looks like a Mini GS with an Inception Kryptonite body.

Whats with the garbage feed neck, original facing foregrip, "Accepts the Redline" and doesnt just come with it and a pound in trigger pin? Looks like they may have done away with the over milled upper to keep rain out of the seam between body and frame as well.

This almost looks likes a better mini gs. Maybe it will replace the mini gs and there will be a "pro" version that replaced the current axe pro because the current one has better features than this one.

As a paintball player, you should be trying to grow the sport. If there is ever an opportunity to help your local field, you should try your best to help.

Agreed. This will just replace the current base line axe if I had to guess. Pretty nice. Just crossing fingers for a new axe pro now.

Paintball News Rules
  1. No Upping threads. If you have something to say, please do, but don't post in the thread just to take it to the top of the forum.
  2. Do not post "1st post", "1st", "First post" or anything similar (or with any other number) at any point in a thread, even if you post a comment too. It is really annoying and it will result in a ban.
  3. If you don't like something, say why instead of just calling it ugly, lame, gay or any other name. If it is old, simply post a link or report the post with a link to the older News thread.
  4. Please don't post links for places to buy items. That encourages stores, sponsored players and other people to do it and spam the site.
