Macs can't run the same programs as PCs, but there are normally alternatives that are just as good as their PC counterparts, or better. I have Office XP on my Win2k Server box, and it's nowhere near as streamlined and smooth as Office v.X on my Mac.

Fact: People who knock Macs for having a one button mouse are ignorant.

One area where Macs are way better than PCs is in the laptop department. Mac laptops are what the PC laptop manufacturers should be trying to make.

It's really all about personal preference, though a lot of people use PCs because a lot of other people use them too, and it's easy to get support when you screw something up.

I agree with Chemmy in everything he said.

I work at a service shop for pcs and macs, every day I see plenty of PCs come in, rarely any macs. You may say its 'because nobody uses them', yeah you're halfway right, but macs rarely ever mess up!
I love macs for their stability. My iMac with OS 10.1 has been up for 21 days.

no offense but this is the most retarded thread. Obviously, the pc would win in this category, more pc's are being used than macs. so obviously pc's would get more votes. it is just one gigantic thread waiting to turn into a flame. macs are naturally faster, but pc's have more software built for them. macs look better but cost more, pc's... well, boring, but cost less. i really like my mac, it has had ZERO problems. i play online games, i do my image work on it, i've got final cut pro on it, i can burn dvd's, cd's, it owns. it's an all in one super computer capable of anything i need or want to do and does it with flying colors. i dont know many computers that come with built in dvd/cd burners/players. though they should start to become standard if they havn't already, since pc's are kinda struggling to keep up with apple.

umm they both have ups and downs. They are also used for differnet tasks. It's like asking which is better, Autococker or Angel.. cockers is machanical, Angel is electroinc.

The Mac is great for graphic designing and movies, around that kind of stuff, while for everything else, there's the PC.

No. iMacs put in schools with no real security measures tend to freeze more than your personal PC.

I've never really used a mac. I like PC's better cause they have more software and games for them.

This $4000 iMac may be running Final Cut Pro 2 and OS9 on it.

It would be better putting OS X and Final Cut Pro 3 on it, for the BEST stability. Even then, Final Cut Pro 2 +OS9 should be stable, that is if it has enough ram, etc.

OS 9 sucked for stability on my computers. But untill I upgraded, all has been way better!

edit: also adobe premier and apple FCP are different programs.
