SSTruckGuy

I guess this is the right forum.

Truckguy came to me on AIM about a post I made to ask me a question about it. We started talking and kind of got to know each other. We'd talk regularly, usually once a day, sometimes more. He's a good guy, I'm glad I can call him my friend. He always listens and is never shy to give advice. We talked about cars (he loves the Toyota Tundra for SOME reason).

Anyway, completely pointless thread? No. Recently I had some worries with a certain four legged family member. My dog was very sick and looked like it could be fatal. I didn't even tell my best friend (I told him days later) before I told Truckguy. I was very glad I did too, little did I know his wife was a vet!

That was Wednesday (I think). He had the ultrasound and xrays on friday, he was diagnosed with hermaniosomething. A large tumor in the base of his heart, 100% terminal. I told truck via a PM and then I wasn't on the computer for 2 days. I was in pieces, my dog is like my little brother to me. Long story short, another, better vet drained the fluid that was blocking his innards froming being xrayed and/or ultrasounded. They could not find any source of tumor in not just his heart, but in his whole body. Further, in the bone marrow sample, it was completely normal and no sign of cancer in that.

But the TRUE point of this post, is truck and his wife helped me a lot more than I could type on this forum. He helped me through this, his wife seemed to know more without seeing my dog then my orginal vet did! Truckguy is an amazing mod, but an even greater person, this is just so his greatness is recognized. Thank You truckguy, and your wife.

So mods can be more than just someone to watch us when we slip up. In this case they can be supporters, advisors, but most importantly, a great friend. Thanks again truck.

(Don't flame me for this anyone. Anyone who had a loved one, pet or not, diagnosed with a terminal illness, must of went through the same pain I did. It's an awful feeling, so don't flame me (even though my dog is better now).

ok, you either have a stick up your *** or are a cold harded prick. i almost lost my cat (well i did actually, i almost lost both in a week) but we took him to the vet and after a few days of shoving a pill down his throat and squirtinga white, gross liquid down his throat, i can say he is sleeping next to me at 100%. i would have been devistated if i lost my 11 year old cat that i have had almost all my life. i only have one person to thank for this and that is the vet who saved his life. (and my dad for paying the bill, since when is there no health insurance for cats, jeeze)

some feature pics.

^ Taken a few years ago.

It's hard to take a picture of him, he always walks over to you and stands right next to you.

He is shaved in misc. spots because of the xray or ultrasound. they also shaved the spots where they stuck the tube in to drain the fluid. You can see he's saying "Thanks Truckguy and Wife"

Cool dog, glad to see he's doing ok. I give charity to different animal and pet organizations every year. There is something to be said about a friend who is made happy just by you being there. I have a 4 year old German Shephard I rescued from euthansia when he was a puppy, best dog ever.

whoever flames people who can openly say they love their pets and tear/cry when they're about to die, needs a freaking life.
