When Bush installs his puppet government in Iraq, oil prices will go down, but refineries will charge the same price to purify, therefore making a larger profit. This amounts to Bush and friends making more money, and the Iraqis making less. He's just trying to destroy OPEC.

WHEN it happens then you can criticize him. How do you know his intentions arent 100% in our best interest? Stop making connections where there isnt any.

Bush is from texas. People in Texas like oil like Yosemite Sam did in that cartoon. Iraq has oil. HOLY GOD...HE WANTS THE OIL!!!

and the president just makes the decisions right?

who do you think tells presidents to make decisions/aid them in making them/inform them? so he doesnt know anything about war, doesnt mean people wont tell them. i would be more looking at the possible cabinet/watching them than just saying "kerry is a pacifist, he'll never do anything war related" cause that is bull****. the same with bush, i believe he makes little to no decisions by himself as far as war issues. my .02

But the idea of our Commander in Chief being a civilian is a checks and balances, and if he does not understand war he could be prone to make wrong decisions based on the Chief of Staff members word (See GWB in the Iraq War) So I feel it is important for the President to have knowledge of what war is and how the soldiers will fair in combat instead of what toys we can use which is really what generals care about.

I do not want Kerry to win because he flip flops and has no idea what to do, he just reads publicity polls, and he wants to put the US military under the UN's jurisdiction. The UN by the way has passed numerous resoltuions against Israel's conduct but has not passed 1 resolution denouncing suicide bombers. What's up with that.

America should not be the world's puppet. If we are doing this to destroy OPEC, then so be it, we should own them.

I am voting for Bush.

yeah i must admit Kerry's "internationalist" stance is disheartening.

However I feel that a president "highly influenced" by the U.N. is much more controllable in congress then one "highly influenced" by Corporate globalization

It may be that UN is an organization for NATIONS and since palestine is not recognized as a governing body they cannot write such a resolution...most of the time the U.S. has vetoed any resolution that says naughty naughty to isreal anyway.

how to put this...they're not in the UN club so they get none of the flack and none of the perks?

Ford: WHy would you want our president controlled by third world politicians who can't even govern their own countries which is exatly what the UN is made up of? At least corporations have the problem of trickle up poverty. The US is the largest market for everything and if americans don't have jobs to buy stuff, guess what? Corporations won't make any profit.

while your ecenomics remind me of reagan years i'll do my best to answer the first question.

The reason why in my mind it's better to have a UN lover as prez is simply b/c the president doesnt pass UN treatys or really even resolutions.

any UN resolution that effects the US (like the nuclear dissarmarment treaty or kyoto pact) must be rattified by both houses in congress.

The United States congress has a great record of killing any impactful UN resolution. Honestly name one policy or law that you have to follow right now that was put in place by the UN, better yet, name one policy businesses or our military have to follow. I dont think you'll come up with jack didally anything.

Corporate greed and globalization on the other hand is in my view more dangerous. GW has moved thousands of jobs over sees and lowered industrial responsibility in our country. Anyone catch GW's earth day speech in maine? maine's pissed cause all the emmissions from the midwest float onto main which has resulted in some of the highest UV indexes in the country not to mention emissions.

That's just one example of why I'd rather have UN lover kerry in charge than Big business lover bush
