CHEAP midblock idea.

black magic sleds: $15 (i called wgp) dunno how much shipping is

black magic bolt and pin from ACP: $25 + $5 shipping

machining from JCM: $50 + $6 shipping TO JCM

so that's $90 for parts and service. ~$20 for the shipping.

that's $110 bucks to get a midblock conversion!

plus 10$ return shipping and 10$ for cutting and rethreading you pump arm
but if you half block it, can you still use the black magic bolt? because i think thats a mid block or does it matter? idk i was just thinking about that

iunno about half block, i think you need a full sled to do that.

i think the $50 for machining has the return price and cut plus die already in there.

i like midblock better than half block. looks better, less kick, and keeps the gun cleaner.

Probably won't notice any less kick. The difference in weight from a halfblock sled to a midblock sled will be negligible. Either, though, is still far lighter than a fullblock setup.

Half and mid blocks can use the same bolt. Halfblock sleds would ideally have more mass to them, formed to the marker body, to keep it inline. Since midblocks have part of the upper tube for this, the sled can be smaller.

you can get a pump arm for the black magic online for 8$ + shipping btw- and this is what I am going to do- I think a drill press w/ a good vice and files to smooth will work fine for the slot- ganna do it once i get a MQ

dont forget your hammer if your not MQed - gatta slot the hammer

it's not the difference in weight of the sled. it's the weight of the body. kick is determined by moving mass vs stationary mass. a midblock has more stationary mass.
