Best length for a back player

wuts the best length for a back player? I generally like to take people out from far away... i was planning on gettin a 16 inch front for my freak jr. Do u think its worth it? My friend got a new front on his freak jr, and it sounds a lot quieter. What to do...

doesnt matter unless u use the longer barrels to push in the air bunkers.

The optimal length for a barrel

is 8 to ten inches. Beyond this, they begin to loose efficiency. By the way, the length of the barrel has NO effect on distance or accuracy. But as the poster said before, if you're looking to push bunkers, you'll need some length, but that is a personal preference. Anything over 14 in. is increadbly inefficient, however.

also consider porting, you need about 8in of none ported barrel.

I have a freak jr. Correct me if im wrong: I should replace the 14 inch front with a 10 inch freak front. The reason for the freak front being that it does have a crap load of porting in it, which would decrease noise, although also decreasing efficiency. This 4 inch decrease in size will have no effect on accuracy, other than that it might be harder to sight the tip of the barrel to the target. Yes? No?

That's exactly it cali. But what kind of marker do you use? Is it something that's quite efficient or are you using a gas hog like a matrix or a shocker? (yeah yeah i know about bolt kits but your efficiency still sucks) The efficiency you lose with a longer barrel isnt a lot so if you play a lot of woodsball and stealth plays a factor then realize that you might better off with a long/quiet barrel since you wont be shooting a case(?) On the other hand, if you play scenarios and stuff and you need to haul a lot of paint then you probably want as much efficiency as you can get.

thanks for the replies I decided to just go with the 10 inch freak front, because ya, i do lots of scenario games. Theres a huge game coming up in july - its one 8 hour long nonstop game. The setting - nazi germany invades russia. Its gonna be sooooo fun... anyways... ya the extra efficiency is gonna help. I have a cocker, so im already pretty set on efficiency, but why not make it even better? As for the woodsball, the freak jr came with a 14 inch front with a good amount of porting, so im set
