empire + dye compatibility

hey, I was just messin around with my barrels and noticed that the empire fronts screws into the dye backs, but not the other way around. anyway, has anyone tried shooting paint thru a setup like this?

im sure its because the screws for front to back are the same....have u tried it with any other empire kits?

the screws are quite different, but somehow it fits that one way. ill let you guys know tomorrow how it goes with paint

I don't understand why one would want to do this.

If the threads are of a different pitch (even if only slightly different) you're be putting enormous shear pressure on both sets of threads when you tighten them down. Why run the risk?

The DYE tip most likely doesn't work with the Empire back because of the thick camfered lock shoulder on the tip.
