Lightbulb What dose everyone think about the prizes for the 7 man?

I just wanted to know everyone felt. It looks to me that if you won 1st place, you will brake even on all of your cost.

I think that if I won 1st place that I would like to have an Impulse or a Vision Shocker. I dont know about the rest of you guys.

Tell me what you think.

the only way in 7-man Am. division you would not make money is if you shot 48 cases of paint.

nov. gets $2000 for 1st
its $315 to enter
$420 for paint 7 cases at $60 per case
so you walk away with a little over $1200 thats not bad

am. gets $3500 for 1st
its $420 to enter
$420 for paint
you walk away with over $2600 thats no bad

That comes to $171 per player for 7-man novice for 1st place. If you are out of town and need (split 7 ways) gas= $10/ $20= hotel/ $20 = food, then you're bringing home $121. A Tippman 98 is $138 dollars from www.888paintball.com Point is if you're playing the 7-man to get mad prizes, you're in the wrong division. If you want to play against some excellent teams and not pay an arm and a leg if you win, then no prob

how do you figure a seven man team will shoot seven cases of paint? my team usually goes threw 10-14 and we're 5 man. and docs right, the point is to play some kick *** teams, get some experience and have fun. you never usually make money off tournaments until you have sponsers to pay for entry and paint, and how do you get such sponsers? by playing tournaments even if you lose money.

I am going off of last year our 5 man team used between 5 to 6 cases per event. At IAO last year we used 7 cases for 7 man

You could have ten 1st places and still not have a thing. The point that I'm trying to make is that the money that you win should be better the the cost of the five man novice prizes. 7 man is where you want all of your teams. the better your prize the more teams that will enter. That is why you only have 9 novice teams and two AM teams payed as of today. on top of that in a 7 man turny you will shoot 2 cases per person eazy if you go to the finals. I was not trying to bash anyone I just wanted to know if there where other people out there that thought that the prizes where on the low side. Thanks to everyone who had input.

There are only 3 AM teams cause no one stepped up, not because of prizes.

I definately see Rook28's point. Most big tourneys have their prizes stacked for the larger teams (7/10 man)since that is where they make their sales in paint. Time will tell if GPL makes any changes or if they even get the turn out to keep it going for 7-man Am, in particular. Hopefully, there will be more teams actually there than are currently listed for 7-man AM/Nov. Good Luck to everyone this weekend!

"HypershockerU2 There are only 3 AM teams cause no one stepped up, not because of prizes. "

There are only 9 teams in the novice. Who would you want to step up? If there was 7k in cash or in guns up for prizes then you would see teams comming out of the wood work to come and play. People play for fun and because they love the game, but they also like Incentives. The Incentives should not be less for the 7 man than they are for the 5 man that is all I am saying. The event makes twice as much more money off of a 7 man team in paint than a 5 man team. Meaning the 7 man prize should be better than the 5 man. If not better at least the same, but never worse. If the event wants to see more teams they know how to get them there. They have been in paintball for a long time. If they do not it looks like the 7 man evnt will go by the way side.

Maybe you didn't notice it is a series. You're looking at one events prizes. Not the big picture.

Hopefully,
HypershockerU2 is right about things getting better as far as the series events improving. If you are referring though, to the season title prize (big picture?), I don't think it has been anounced yet. Again, see you all there!
