Nickels in the valve cap

Has anyone else ever heard of this? The guy working at a local proshop recommended doing this to make the gun recock faster. Nickels only fit in the older versions. I had to take a few dimes to a bench grinder to get them to fit . I didn't notice any huge changes just shooting a hundred balls in my back yard. Anyone know how this would affect the gun?

never heard of that, all it would do is put more pressure against the valve, making the hammer have to work harder to open it, which means you'd be lowering your FPS because the valve would be open for less time, requiring more PSI or a longer dwell setting to get the same results, canceling out the incresed spring pressure
