IF I could get my pics to work I have some really cool pics of the red to blue proteus I did...
red sides that fade to a dark blue front and then I took a clear spectra frame and did the reverse..after that I took a bunch of spare red blue and black Eclipse ball detent jewels and patterned them all over the mask...plus added some old Soviet Motor Rifle insignias and a few other things to it and it gets a LOT of attention at the field...
If I could find an all clear (upper and lower is clear/white) new Proteus I'd love to do a 3 or 4 color and 2 direction dye job...

now the directions for a 2 color
just dip the item half way in the orange (or 3/4 ) and then reverse ends and dip the rest in black... you should get some fade OR dip it 1/4 in the color and then dilute the dye down (after the first 1/4 has taken) quite a bit and do the rest to get the fade...just remember to pull it out and rinse it to check for the desired amount of color from time to time...
I think I'm going to do some fade on a few clear/opaque white Fat Boy pods I have this week IF I have time....and I might do my clear HALO if I get around to pulling it apart after practice tomorrow...it needs cleaning anyway.Just wish they made a clear internal feed for them...

something I forgot..
with pods you'll probably have to either boil them or use boiling water to get the dye to set into the plastic...

The harder the plastic its a good idea to have hotter water. Dont have it so hot the plastic get weak.

Dye it all black, the black part will stay black. It may take awhile for it to soak in the hard plastic.

Does this only work on plastic parts? Could you use this on a spyder xtra perhaps?

well i dont know if your talkin about the macro or the stickys... the stickys im sure will take color and if you do it to the macro and it doesnt work then it doesnt work its not like it will change it.. i dont think it will weaken it though i really dont know... try it and see how it comes out

the revy might turn purple..... or maybe like a dark blue but def not green you need yellow and blue to make things green
