I knew it was haouli just didn't know how to spell it...
as for the rest it was a joke so lighten up...
I'm getting ready to set up an area here at home just for dyeing.I have a rather large basement that isn't used much and have plenty of room near the old wash sinks to set up a complete "dye shop"... it should be up within a month...

are you serious? you would risk blindness just to make your lenses red? not to mention the fact that if they are thermals you will mess them up too?

sdrawkabnsym once you are done screwing up your lenses go to the Dr. and get yourself sterilized so you won't produce any excessively stupid offspring...

it changes the charachteristics of the plastic, its going into the pores of the plastic, its not like its a paint, you are altering the properties of it and one could be shrinkage or weakening, it might be by a very small amount, but it could be enough to not withstand hits

my experience
Ok,
I tried to dye my evo II and i have to say it failed miserably. I followed your directions pretty well and i got nothing. I'll tell you what i did.
I took it apart and cleaned the sticker goo with alcohol then i cleaned it all with soap and water. I then went and got rit navy blue dye (two liquid bottles). Then i took two dowels to use as a support to hold the pieces in the water. I tied them all too it with fishing line. I then got very hot water from the tap and put it in a 5 gallon bucket. I put in one bottle. It was filled about 2/3 of the way. I mixed it up a little bit and dunked the pieces in. I checked every 5 or 10 min and I got nothing. I then tried it another way. I added the 2nd bottle of rit dye and another gallon of boiled water to the already dyed water. I boiled the pieces in the water for 5-10 min for the pores to open. I then took the water and the pieces and dumped them in with the other water. I let it sit for about 20 min. And i officially got nothing. I still have it sitting in there right now hopeing for a miracle. I'll probably have to get more dye if you can tell me what the hell i'm doing wrong. Thanks alot Marc.

Did you have any warping in the shells at all and also did you have it boiling. I would think it would mess up the shells at least a little. thanks.

semi boiling is where it was around mid? on the stove nothing warped except my lid it shrank just enough to make it hard to get on the hopper which led to it breaking when i tried to get it on

Did it work well with semi boiling water? I just did mine, I had to much water compared to dye and it barely tinted the plastic.
I'm thinking more dye, less water, and hotter water maybe?

something tells me bleaching wont help and i think the part about the screws was to not lose them and set them aside somewhere safe
