What are the differences between the V1, V2, and Z2?

V1 has a magnetic cone, plastic feed neck insert.

V2 had an aluminum insert and different drive belt.

Z2 no longer used the side shells as part of the feed neck. On/off switch improved so it won't turn on in your gear bag.

At some point they changed the drive cone from the magnetic clutch deal they used in the V1. I'm not sure when that happened.

V1 and V2 can be upgraded to the different feed necks with a new tray and then cutting the neck pieces off of the shells.

The magnetic clutch was used in both V1 and V2 Prophecies, only difference between the V1 and V2 was the insert. Saying the drive belt was an upgrade is like saying putting an orange o-ring on a DM6 is an upgrade.

The Z2 system was brought in the Z2.

The earliest prophecy shells had only 2 or so ribs in the shell near the anti jam and these are prone to cracking. If you see one of these shells it is probably in terrible shape or basically unused.

Later ones had 6 or so ribs and later than that they went with the aluminum feed tube and a slightly different drive belt. The drive belt was changed I think because of supplier tolerance issues.

Any prophecy with the non early style shells is good to go. Just like the rotor the difference between v1v2v3 whatever has little meaning.

The z2 is a totally different machine. The only changes I know of to the z2 is that they added a rib in the nose cone to keep paint from wedging into it and getting stuck. It worked fine in original configuration but it was very annoying and I would go out of my way to get the updated shell.

But I use the hi cap shells so it doesn't really apply anyways.
