psp dying?

if u look at the teams registered, on www.pspevents.com it doesnt look like too many teams are playing. i have seen local tournaments draw in way more teams. the only thing psp has going on for them is x-ball.

rookie 5 man 15 teams
novice 5 man 8 teams
rookie 10 man 5 teams
novice 10 man 19 teams
proam 10 man 12 teams

lol you could play novice 10 man end up dead last and still say you placed 5th in the psp LA OPEN

psp had to turn away alot of xball team because they reached their limit; they are going through a transitional period. they are transforming from the psp of old to a new xball focused psp.

Yeah man... X-Ball won't die. That's for sure. Look how much is invested in it commercially. Way too many people like it.

A LOT of teams took off LA to raise cash and finish their teams up. Especially on the east coast. We've had a brutally cold winter (-30!!) in the northeast, which has crippled the ability to practice on our private fields. We did some indoor but it was way too crowded for tryouts and impossible for drills.
Sunday was the first day we were able to open the field for a couple hours and even then it took an hour to stake with the frozen ground. (that sucked)

So we definately need the time from now till orlando to come up to speed, I'm sure a lot of teams are that way as well.

That pretty much sums it up. We are reffing LA for this reason. 10 man isn't dying anytime soon.

They take 48 total X ball teams from all 3 Div's. Whomever signs up and pays up first gets a secured slot in that 48. If it's all D3 or all D2, that's just the way it goes.

Plus you have to imagine that some or alot of teams in Cali (rookie novice) decided to do the Nppl event at huntington instead of LA. So that added competition.
Other wise, i think the rest of the year, both leagues will be about the same in attendance. (hopefully, cause MORE IS BETTER!)
