The "2. Bundesliga" is essentially semi-pro, and under that there is a "3. Bundesliga", which is equal to D1.
Below that, leagues become regional, so if you want to make it onto national level in D1, you need to win your local league first.
Promotion/relegation is year to year, throughout the divisions, all the way from Pro to the lowest local league.
Their events are 1 division (of 12) meeting up for 1 day of games at a permanent field.... they typically have 4-5 game days per season in a division.
So, these are not tournaments like we know them, they are all "game days" where 12 teams meet up to play amongst eachother, typically getting 3-4 matches in a day.
No "game day" finds a winner, they are all just games part of a large seasonal schedule.
Personally, I like it because it's cheap... but it is incredibly boring to watch, because nobody really ever plays for "the win", except maybe at the last event of the year, if 2 teams are close in the season rankings.
I'd like someone to come up with a hybrid, so that we can get to play tournament paintball cheap, but let us continue to have big paintball events with event titles to be won.
