Do the eyes need proper polarity

I am attaching a plug to the existing eye. Do I need to worry about polarity on the wires?

Yes! The eyes are diodes and must go in a certain way. Lemme work up some graphics and I'll post them.

Sorry it took so long
The black wire goes into the right side as this picture shows;


The black wire connects to the "cut" side of the eye like so;


This is the same for both eyes.
