Looking forward to seeing this hit market.

It's not likely to be any more expensive than the electronic hardware in any other modern high end gun. It just has more complex code.

I saw that too... Love it. This little phenomenon is define as:

A temporal distortion is commonly defined as the temporal evolution, or fluctuation, of the spatial distortion on a particular area which corresponds to the image of a specific object in the scene.

It seems what you see isn't what is happening.

This makes me happy to see. Having owned a few Quests, I remember when TAS first started coming out with new concepts, such as the upgraded bolt that actually improved efficiency a bit as well as the trajectory.

It's been a few years, but i feel that this will be a great way to for these gents to get back in the market. Hoping that all this time was spent wisely to make sure that there are no foul ups in production.

It has no effect on the trajectory.

I'm glad to see "Quest" coming back. I love mine and still play every weekend with it. If you keep the grip the same as the quest I and May others will love it. The frame is one of the most comfortable every made. Keep us updated frequently, keeps us interested.

So it adjusts dwell between shots based off the pressures being read at real time?

Or does it just adjust for fsdo?

It seems like the first part which I'm happy about because it's the next step to making a more consistent marker and will compensate for reg issues better as well. The bolt monitoring will compensate for lubing issues as well, which is awesome.

Really thought macdev and then empire both missed the boat by not having the dwell adjust based off the pressure differentials. I'm happy about where the electronics in this are going and it's about damn time that boards started getting smarter to much of a stagnant industry the last few years. Had hopes the j4 thing would have been more advanced electronically but it fell short like the new empire and macdev products.

It's simple physics man. I love my 4B bolt as much as the next guy but I took too many physics courses to believe that a bolt can change the trajectory of a paintball after it has left the barrel.

This has been done before in the sandridge style electronic autocockers.

http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=5uoftl&s=4

The guns shot well but were extremely finicky. I'm sure the designers have taken this into account, if it works the way they advertise this should be amazing. Imagine putting this thing over the chrono and having it compensate for 299 +-0 ball after ball with minor fluctuation during rapid fire. I'm pretty pumped.

Don't set unrealistic expectations for what electronics can accomplish. There's still lag in solenoid response and real-time adjustments won't accomplish a lot. Shot to shot, or moving averages are a more realistic way to implement some of this. Also, the electronics have to interface somewhere and I doubt they'll adjust the pressure or flow rates so it's more than likely an elegant dwell tuning method. Since the primary valve is coupled to the bolt dynamic, dwell is more critical. Some guns can mechanically desensitize the solenoid dwell parameter, which circumvents the need for an electronic solution.

at one time, a "computer smaller than a single room" was an "unrealistic expectation"...

anyway, I was thinking that they would fill the regulator up with magnetorheological (however that is spelled) fluid and have a small current change the viscocity - effectively changing the stiffness of the spring in the regulator (and by doing that, the pressure as well). It is the same technology humvees use in their shock absorbers (or at least there was a prototype of it), a little current and voila, stiffer springs.

but maybe that is just me having taken too many physics courses to believe that there would come a marker that made use of non newtonian fluids.

Man, now I started looking at how to build a small chrono I could put on one of my markers..

That would probably be very energy consuming keeping a constant voltage to the coils in the reg, and probably not feasible. Also, the ferrofluid in car springs work by magnetically changing the viscosity of the fluid which has to flow through restriction points inside the shock, so the springs themselves aren't changing stiffness. A paintball regulator piston also responds much faster and over a much shorter distance than car springs.

In regards to consistency, I would wager on paint size variance having a larger effect on the velocity swings than the pressure regulation system, especially with the current excellence in tank and marker regulators.

If this works, this very much sounds like it could potentially blow away every other marker out there so far, I can't wait to hear more about it!
