If you are thinking of getting one on a marq, it's not the best idea.
All bob long markers are kind of flaky with tolerances, and getting a plain ano can cause issues, but there is an ever greater chance of issues occurring with a 3-d splash since it has to be dipped in acid twice.

I have a lifegame splash VIS that has 4 or 5 colors in it ... no issues with tolerances. In fact I haven't seen any issues with tolerances in any of the various anos I have seen come through on the myriad of Bob Long Markers I own.
You'll be fine. Excellent choice with the VIS. I love mine.
As for how they do the 3d ano, I have some theories, but I may be complicating it a bit and I do not know for sure.

Awesome. That is all gloss, right? Wonder if they could do that with a matte base fade.
I am gonna put an Exalt grip on my reg as well, but I need to find a black one with white writing. I emailed Exalt yesterday, but have not heard back. None of the online stores give a detailed enough description for me to tell if it is the black/white or the black/grey.
