Nope, I'm still shooting them. The GT I've talked to you about a while back is still in my possession, only it's now a GTI. They've served me too well to stop shooting their guns at this juncture.

However, the VCOM really impressed me last year that I had to get one. Now I shoot both boblong and macdev.

Initial impressions:

Insight was set at a dwell of 10.5 with HPR at 150.

I still need to do more tests, but I was getting about 10 fps higher on the old bolt and rammer, but a more consistent grouping on the new one. It sounds slightly different and it's hard to tell if there's a change in smoothness.

similar isues with ego 09

The ego 09 originally came out with a super fast bolt that shredded orings. It also added gun mods to slow bolt down and change the rammer. I had an 09 with mods and had no problems. Could be similar problem with insight.

Not quite the same issue. This bolt is supposed to help with ball breakage due to the fast cycling and/or roll back.

Insight really doesn't have that problem. Insight actually has no problems. I don't even believe the "rollback issue" even really exists.

The main point of this new mod is that with 10.5, and 12.5 being standard there is no need for the bolt to cycle(back) so fast. And if they can give the Insight an even smoother shot while keeping the amazing efficiency, then why not.

Anyone who thinks there is something wrong with the NG platform is a simpleton.

It exists. Something was wrong with the bolt tip length and pillow tip. This caused the bolt to not hold the balls against the detents properly, and it would shift around in the breach.

You're going to call me a simpleton because you haven't experienced issues. You can choose to believe, or not believe this problem exists, but that sir, does not make me a simpleton.

I have about 20 cases through 2 different NG's. I have never had paint break in the breech.

I had severe shoot down problem, took it to the shop and they "fixed" it working with BLAST. Took it out again and at the end of the day, had shoot down problem again (not as bad as last time). The marker rocks when it works, but at this point I don't need better performance, I need a consistant, reliable marker.

So far no issues with mine with the updated orings and 5.19BD software. With a ball in the breach, there is virtually no movement between the bolt tip and detents....less play than there is with my JT Impulse. I really like the Insight--simple, reliable and it feels great. This 'upgrade' is just not something I care about at this moment, personally.

The fact that you have to take such a simple gun to the shop leads me to believe that you really have no idea about the platform, if it's got the proper updates, and what to look for if you experience problems. And oh.....Monkey Poo.

Everyone experiences issues once in a while that requires them to seek out advice from our local pros ... There is nothing wrong taking a marker to a pro shop if it is not functioning properly.

While we may find the Insight platform super simple, there have been issues some have reported that are not simply explained away as user error.

My experience is that shootdown is due to air getting around the brass shutoff due to the seal between the two compartments being lost which of course usually means the can has come loose ... or that rear 010/5.8x1.9 o-ring in the shutoff is allowing air past it. I usually start at that 010/5.8x1.9 o-ring, and work out from there.
This all assumes that the back cap is tight ... which is a bad assumption to make sometimes.

solenoid problem

My insight problem was that one oring on the solenoid was out of place. It was fixed by switching oring positions (no extra oring). Nobody wanted to disclose the oring size for solenoids for some reason; not even BLAST.

O-rings in MAC Bullet Valves are completely custom, not just in size but also in construction; bottom line is you can't find it off the shelf, and BLAST probably doesn't even know the spec.
