Agreed but its still possible to live out of it with a guy in s50. A smaller player who plays the outside (of the d side maya) would still arguably be able to live. This same sceario doesn't hold true with a regular can perhaps in that same position. Either way I like the look of this field. I think it will reward speed on the d side tremendously. If your quick enough to make it wide off the break it looks easy to get way down the field. Even speed up the middle is going to be rewarded. Also looks like their is 2-3 looks you can throw out their that will have success and a lot of creativity can happen up the middle.

Offset back center can...I like.

You will see teams doubling that bunker and the tower up, but you can't for too long like you did at MAO. They are too close to the center that you will risk getting pinched out if you don't contain the wide guy. Seems like a cool layout for shooting OTB then hauling *** out wide.

I was not very impressed with this layout when I first saw it. After playing it though it was very fun and a pretty even layout in terms of D-Side vs Snake side. I think it will make for some very good points come the even.

I don't know why they continue to make fields like this. They didn't learn their lesson from MAO? Teams are going to play the pocket all day. Double up the can and the tower and it's painfully hard to get out on either side. It's easy to move up the middle, which only makes it harder to get out wide.

There are some good shots once you get into the snake 50 or up the doritos, but it's not worth the risk when many teams will have 4 guns sitting in the pocket and pounding lanes.

You are wrong.

The key difference is, that the tower and can cannot lock down the same gaps, so a front will be working 1 on 1 to make it wide. That makes it a lot easier to put and guy in and bump.

The main difference is, that in the last 2 layouts, they have stocked up the centre part of the field with big bunkers, that cut down a lot of those defensive lanes.

This layout will play much faster than MAO, especially when fronts have played it a few times, so they learn the gaps and snaps by heart.

I don't understand what you're saying at all. You agree that teams will double up the can and tower but the 1 guy they send wide will have an easy time bumping because he only has to worry about the tower OR the can?

Playing faster than MAO is not an accomplishment, it should be a given. That was the slowest field I've ever seen. It was frustrating for me to watch.

Doubling up the two closest bunkers is bad for paintball viewers. Unfortunately I think we'll see a lot of it. I have no idea how it'll play after that.

No, I do not agree teams will double up those bunkers (well they will for the breakout, but not for a prolonged period of time).

So my point was there is no reason to double up those 2 bunkers for a long time, and furthermore it will be bad strategy, and thus this field will play a lot differently (and faster) than MAO.

The can cannot effectively stop the bump into D1, so the tower will be playing heads up with his mirror to stop the move. That makes it a lot easier for a front, than having to battle two guys to make it in.... the only way to effectively contain the move into D1 without going wide, is to put guys in both towers, but the forward tower will get pinched, when the opponents are in S1, or can get run down with relative ease up the centre, so at best it is a transition bunker.

The snake side is a little easier to contain, as both the tower and the can can shoot the lane ahead of S1... but as soon as the opponents make D1, you cannot live 2 guys in the can., and the tower only needs to flinch once, before the opponent takes S1.... I also predict we will see a lot of teams put a back in the inside temple, and then have the front fill S50 from the forward can.

Either way, both sides are much harder to contain than MAO, so it will make little sense to slow play it.

With the bunker kit the PSP works with currently, it is hard to build better fields than Chicago and the west coast one, as you eventually run out of bunkers for the centre portion of the field, once your two wires are done. If they enlarged the bunker kit with 2-4 cans more, you could build ultra aggressive fields.... but that is not a solution you can implement mid season, as a lot of fields will complain they have to buy more bunkers.
