marqs? ripper? victory? vis? vcom?

i know the insight is a different platform

but all the marqs? do they all have the same board and frame?
i know the milling is different, and the engines it comes with can be different?

will i notice a difference if i buy a new VIS? versus buying a used say ripper or vcom and getting both newer engines?

All gen 2 are the same besides milling. No, since the markers are the same, they will preform the same(pressures and tuning my vary)

All gen 1 are the "same" besides milling.

Victories are Gen 2 Marqs ...
No, not all Victories have the same board.
If you pickup a 2013 or newer Ripper Vic, Vcom or VIS they will all have the same Frenzy 5 board that has the OLED in the back of the grip frame. Other than the milling, they are identical internally.
Most used 2013 Rippers and Vcoms will come with the Vcom engine and the older SC poppet. It is rare to find a used Vcom or ripper with a VIS poppet and the Vcom spool, but they are out there. I would choose which milling you prefer and go from there.
Older Victories had different boards, but the eye system is the same on all Victories.

I have a ripper with SC poppet, and am satisfied with it. A tech told me to upgrade to VCOM spool becvause it is a newer technology and works at lower pressure that is easier on the gun.

Is that correct and should I upgrade to the spool to have a "better", more reliable gun?

Upgrading to the Vcom will just give you crap efficiency and an insanely smooth/quiet shot.

If anything, upgrade to a vis engine. It will give you amazing efficiency while being just slightly louder and less smooth than the vcom

how crappy is the efficiency of the vcom? what we talking here? what does it compare to.

if i were able to fill up after each game/round wouldnt this be the better choice?

It's your typical spool valve. It's crappy compared to the poppet valve engines.

You should see 9 pods or so with the Vcom spool off a 68/45. About the same as a Luxe or DM. IF that is all you need, the Vcom emgine will be all you need, but my field only fills to 3k most days, so I like the efficiency of the VIS poppet.

I shoot with a SL 90. Efficiency does not mean anything to me
