The first electro-gun.....

Hi!

This is my first post on this site I think.... So hi boys and girls!

I was just being a bit curious. Which was the electro-gun that started it all? The first factory-made electro-gun that is.... Would be fun to know.

This site totally rocks!

The PVI Shocker is identical to the standard Smart Parts Shocker from '95 or '96. Smart Parts designed the Shocker and Max-flo and PVi built them. The sad part tho is that PVi screwed it up and Smart Parts fortuanately took control of production. Nothing has come out of PVi since.

The PVI is NOT the first electro, people. It's only the first actually mass-produced and marketed.

There were a couple prototype electros, and even a "Smart-gun" upgrade for 3 'hot' markers of the time (mag, VM-68, and I never remember the 3rd).

But these were only in prototype stages. Some actually worked rather well. But one very small flaw prevented them from the market.

And the Angel is the first electro to really come out of the box operational friendly.

If you wanna get technical, there were several electros before the Shocker or Angel. Wasn't there a long running rumor of an electronic Phantom or something too? Oh well, commerically speaking, the shocker was the first electro. The Angel came out within months.

E-phantom? You got it! I saw the ad in a 1996 I&I Sports catalog, evidently, though, they had problems with the switch or something like that, and it never made it into production.
