Etek 4 VS AXE?

Looking to buy a gun soon, don't want to spend more than 500$.

Which of these guns would be better off?

Axe, smoother, quieter, upgrade path (OLED board, bolt upgrades from lurker and others, etc). Essentially, upgrade as you go and you'll have yourself a high end tourney grade marker by the end, which compared to the eTek is a cannon.

you will not be dissapointed with an etek because it is basically an ego 11 just with the oled board and it is more efficient gives you a better barrel and puts an axe to the dirt.

You need to hold both. Both are great guns but some people find the Axe to be extremely awkward ergonomically and very uncomfortable (me include). I find the Axe to be the most uncomfortable, worst feeling gun on the market.

You have to make sure the marker you pick feels comfortable in your hands.

Oh boy, here we go again.

Go shoot an Axe that's setup by someone halfway competent then go shoot an Etek. They shoot nothing alike. The performance ceiling for the Axe operating system is much higher.

Lol.

Shoot or at least hold both and use that as a basis. I love my axe, in my opinion its probably the best "bang for your buck" out there, especially if you pick one up around 300 used like I did.

I just got an Axe the other day and it's extremely nice. Feels fantastic in the hands, is very light and shoots MUCH quieter than the Etek. I had this debate with myself for a while before I went with my instinct and got the Axe. IMO the Etek does look dope(always wanted an Ego body marker) but the Axe is still sexy and performs extremely well. The volume of the Etek kind of put me off, I felt that it would get annoying over time shooting a cannon and basically having to buy an aftermarket bolt just to make it shoot quiet.

You deserve this: "just look at how many pro teams shoot the Axe and then how many pro teams shoot the etek4"

Lmfao!!

Any way. I would go with an Axe instead of a etek4.

They really are extremely loud.

Especially when you are in nuketown at PBX and someone shoots it inside a house!! JESUS!!!

No experience with the Etek, but I loved my Axe. Good shot quality, not too loud, very efficient, and upgrades are pretty reasonable (other than Redline, which IMO, is unnecessary). My vote goes to the Axe.

Paint-handling ability hasn't been mentioned yet. The Axe bolt system was designed (slow initial bolt speed/force) to handle the most brittle paint without issue and it does that very, very well.

Anyone that thinks that any paintball marker in the current market shoots like a cannon,

NEEDS TO GO AND SHOOT AN ACTUAL CANNON!

The Etek really isn't that loud, and doesn't have that much recoil. It's greatly over-exaggerated by people who have no concept of what loudness and recoil really is.

Explain? Both can shoot the most brittle paint, and the Etek is generally more efficient and more durable. Both have bolt upgrades.

Being that literal is silly. Obviously it is a comparative statement and as far as paintball guns go, the etek is one of the loudest modern guns.

Axe shoots better. I hate the way it feels in my hands. I'd get the Etek.

I own the etek4 and it did seem loud to begin with but over a little time it quiet down. I've shot the axe it's nice aswell it shoots smooth and reliable. either gun is a good choice. I am happy with my etek

I really think people take the sound signature and recoil have an ETEK way out of whack. For everything that comes with that gun, pound for pound, it's better than the axe

A guy on my team shoots an Etek 4, which is a close second to the loudest gun on my team: an Ego 8. How anyone cannot say that Eteks are friggin LOUD compared to most other modern markers baffles me.

I'm an Axe fan so I'd say Axe - but it really comes down to what is most comfortable to you.
