Baseball cleats or Paintball cleats?

Hi, New to the site. Location Houston, TX.
I play rec paintball. Just curious if it's worth buying some baseball cleats or spend some money for paintball cleats.
I do want to get something better than my Nike running shoes though. Lol

for starters it depends on what you are playing on. Dirt, grass, turf? A mixture?

Find something that feels comfortable and you should be fine. Some people use track cleats, some soccer, football, paintball, baseball, it really just depends on what feels nice.

Don't do either. Go buy yourself a nice pair of nike/addidas soccer cleats. You look at what the pros where and 90% wear soccer cleats. The rest wear a low cut football cleat

Thanks for the replies guys. I was looking at some addidas baseball cleats around $40. I will have to look at the soccer ones, if they feel better I have to go that route. I don't play pro. I play at Legends and Zone north in Houston, TX.

I use Under Armor baseball cleats, mid tops I think. They had them on sale, $28, at my local Big 5 because their boxes were torn up and the season was over. Got all of the ones they had in my size and a half size bigger. I think 6 pairs total, so I am set for a pretty long time.

Baseball cleats (not spikes as mentioned) are perfectly fine, so are football cleats and soccer. The only justification I have heard for soccer cleats is that they are lighter, but I don't feel the few ounce difference when other cleats are already pretty light. Football generally offer more ankle support which is probably the only thing I would consider if it's a concern for you.

Get whatever feels comfortable, or whatever you like, and cheapest is always great so you can get multiple pair.

I had Nike football Landshark 3/4 cleats loved them, then I went to a Nike baseball cleat and now im back to the landsharks I like to have ankle support when I play nothing worst then a rolled ankle.

Ok, I tried a few on and ended up getting some addidas baseball cleats. They were also on sale for $25. They feel great and lots more traction than my running shoes.
Thanks for the help guys.

Nike land shark football cleats are the best cleats for all kinds of paintball. They are cheap I'm pretty sure there under 40 bucks. They are very comfortable and light and they are overall a great cleat. I have worn mine through a football season and about 20 times paint balling and there still holding up great

Baseball cleats (rubber bottom) > Football cleats > Soccer cleats..........> Paintball Cleats

Why do I rate them this way?
Because as you have specified that you play rec that tells me that you will most likely find yourself on a variety of playing surfaces. Perhaps grass some times. Mud other times. Hard dirt to rocky areas to possibly even concrete areas. The rubber cleats you can find on some baseball cleats will give you the most versatility.
Football cleats are good for the dirt, mud and grass but if the area is rocky or cement you will have a hard time keeping footing. Similar for soccer cleats.

I go with cleats that have ankle support. Because not all fields will be nice turf or grass.

I go with baseball cleats because that's what they are made for. Running/sprinting intermittently with lateral movement support. Soccer cleats assume that you have an even soft grass or turf with speed in mind.

If you get soccer cleats just be careful with the ankles, you might be fine with them in your teens but as you get older you have to think about protecting your body. So you have good ankles to keep playing when you are older.

The only problem with soccer cleats are the have no cleat under the front like baseball and football do. As for the weight, its not that noticeable to me, but playing woodsball its nice to have that upper cleat when going up a sloppy hill!
