I was playing on a rec field in Kansas and slid into a bunker to discover that a skunk was already taking refuge there. Luckily I did not get sprayed but my hasty retreat from the bunker did get me shot.

How about brown bear?

Didn't actually see it, but it passed through just a few hours before...

I used to have a photo of a caribou that came through one day- dragging some of our boundary tape. Bald eagles are common, had a coyote once (in the distance, not through the field itself) and a big porcupine.

And, for future reference? It's almost impossible to break a ball on a moose. Too fat and/or too much fur.

Hey, it was legit. The moose was eating some hay that had been put out for some horses. Moose can't digest hay- eat too much and they could literally starve to death with a full stomach. So I brought over a marker to... persuade her to go elsewhere. Not one ball broke.

Sorry, not Patriot. It was Sniper Jacks near Champaign, IL. Fun place, but was always a bit too close to near by development. Stray shots would find their way into a next door trailer park and players could be seen from the back rooms of a near by motel. It was also one of the many "flood zone" fields I've been to. Little pockets of land that flood every spring, so you can't actually build anything there, so they sit empty and overgrown, and eventually someone thinks "hey, lets put a paintball field there".

Please Google your facts before you post. (This comes from the Maryland Department of Natural Resources.)

My children touched the fawn and Iím afraid the mother wonít take it back - what should I do?

The doe-fawn bond is very strong. A mother deer will not avoid her fawn if there are human or pet odors on it. Fawns are rarely abandoned, except in extreme cases where the fawn has defects which will prevent its survival. The fawn should be placed in or next to natural vegetation near the location where it was found to provide cover and protection. The doe will avoid the area until the disturbance has passed, after which she will search for the missing fawn. If more than 24 hours have passed, the fawn may need attention from a wildlife rehabilitator.

I played at Aliens in the Rockies last year in Utah. Every night when the sun goes down, it sounds like a kegger/huge high school football game kicking off. It's not, its the Utah coyote research center and that was thousands of coyotes howling at the moon. At the night game that weekend, I was working the tape line in the creek, looked over at 2 blue eyes, growling at me. I'm not much of a runner, but I made it back to base real quick that night.

I was playing a game in the evening about 9 years ago and my friend and I thought we had a few other players dead in our sites about 15 yards away, we were about to run forward and ambush them until we realized it was a brown bear and her cubs. I don't think we've ever run in the opposite direction so fast even though that probably wasn't the smartest thing to do, still a fun day

I have 2 stories
In chronological order

2nd year of woodsball so back in 2010. My local field (synergy paintball challenge, ohio) had a dday based big game and my friends and I formed a squad. We set up near a small bunker and were waiting so my friend decided to climb a tree a bit ahead of us to let them walk past and be surrounded. Well this worked until he droped his gun out of the tree shooting himself and letting the people coming up know he was there. The reason a scared baby racoon was stuck in a hole in the tree. My friend then took out his phone and took a picture and blocked the hole when the 5 man squad he had alerted to his presence began to shoot at him till he yelled and explained when he wasnt gonna climb down and go to the respawn. They kindly stoped turned and went a diffrent path while my friend moved the racoon off the field.

The next story is when I was in my first year of competition speedball, so of course I was decked in what renters call pro gear (Jersey pants and a ion) I think it was 2012 any way we were playinga game of invade the woods. I started in the feild and flanked hard to the left and dove in to a pile of wood just into the woods I heard movment from my left and saw a fawn laying shaking in terror next to me I then tried to allert the refs to no luck so I stood up and field goal pose and protected the fawn however everyone on the other team say my blue "pro "gear in their minds and wanted to be known as the one who "killed" a pro so I was welted up for 4 min before a ref finally came over and asked why. He then called the game and we changed fields for the day. That hurt was a night of counting welts.

Animals on the field most of the time are scared so try to help them out.

Another good one is the Sasquatch rumor at Oklahoma D-Day. I have not seen the film yet but that was a massive story this year,

Splat Action Paintball down in Oregon is right next to a reindeer farm. Last time I was there, the baby reindeer (whatever you call them) would come over to the fence and stick their little snouts through the fence to eat the paintballs on the ground. They LOVED them!

Honestly as my family being a family of hunters if we are are hinting for meat we prefer to take a smaller doe/ younger because the meat is more tender and not as gamey because the deer has had as much time to strengthen its muscles. So I wouldn't have a problem at all with eating a deer that is 6 months old. I also wouldn't want to take a baby deer the size of a cat.

I've got a few...

one time a dove into a bunker only to discover a large bull snake had already claimed it as his own. I immediately ran off the field and was done for the game.

That same field had prairie dogs everywhere, sadly occasionally you'd catch walk-ons trying to shoot at them.

At Vintage Paintball Park in River Falls, WI we had a wild turkey just hanging out in the middle of the outpost field during a game
