The lesson here is if you do touch a fawn, you then have to eat it.

Yeah I'm not very computer literate, I'm glad I figured it out how to post a video instead of a link! It took me forever how to post a link in my signature.

That thing didn't have nearly enough meat on it. Well, maybe enough for a few sticks of venison slim jims.

one of the fields I first started playing at when I was a wee little one was right next to some kind of farm, or the lady collected weird animals or something, anyway while we played on this old school rec ball field (think plywood, spools, and barrels) an entire assortment of animals would run across the field!! at any given time there would be peacocks, ducks, foxes, racoons, emus, and the best part was when the peacocks would spread their feathers out the field owners dog would get really mad about it and then you would have a german shepard sprinting across the field mid game to chase the peacocks away lol! It was insanity.

Though the weirdest would be when I lived down in Illinois. There was an emu farm about a quarter mile from one of the fields. One of those 6ft high flightless mega birds managed to escape... and pecked a player on the behind while he was crawling through the underbrush. At first I think he though he was hit by a ball, until he turned around and saw this...

...and then his screams scared it off.
Was that patriot paintball in Woodstock? I used to work there and we would see all kinds of stuff. Sad part is that field closed down for "commercial development" - 10 years later the land is still sitting there with nothing on it. The netting poles and trailer are still there.

We have some private land up in the foothills of Wyoming we play on, and I have seen a bear, Deer and Elk in addition to the normal ground squirrels, rabbits and Birds of Prey while playing.

Watching the latest DERDER Short Bus release, they have a sequence in episode... 14'sih? where the back of the field just opens up to a farm with cows chilling out.

They call it out and even notice one has some paint on it.

Played at a field with a pack of llamas + goats on the speedball field, would have to shoo them away before playing. Old zoo turned into a paintball/airsoft field.

At one of the LL events I was in bedlam - the final battle - paint and noise/complete chaos everywhere. i saw something moving on the ground - it was a baby bird, just running around peoples feet. I put my gun down, scooped him up in my hands and using my body as cover for it walked into the woods past the tape line and let it go. it probably didn't make it but at least it didnt get stepped on.

The doe-fawn bond is very strong. A mother deer will not avoid her fawn if there are human or pet odors on it. Fawns are rarely abandoned, except in extreme cases where the fawn has defects which will prevent its survival. The fawn should be placed in or next to natural vegetation near the location where it was found to provide cover and protection. The doe will avoid the area until the disturbance has passed, after which she will search for the missing fawn. If more than 24 hours have passed, the fawn may need attention from a wildlife rehabilitator.

I agree with these guys^
Regardless of what the other person does for a living and a textbook tells them.

My family is very close family friends with the owners of a rather large high fence game ranch with lots of deer including whitetails. I basically grew up there as we are there so much.

A doe will not abandon her fawn if a human touches them..

I'm saying I have personally on several occasions both inside the high fence and outside seen human interaction with fawns and the doe never abandoned them. I have actually seen a couple of times where the doe stands back from a distance and watches as her fawn or fawns(twins are amazing) inspected the human and was touched by the human then when the fawn was done inquiring it ran back to its mother and they went about their way...

Something I have seen several times that is intriguing that I might share while we are semi on the topic is when a fawn is born inside a fence (the fence is only 4 feet tall (easily jump-able by a deer) and they stay there after the mother leaves when they are of age she feels acceptable. For some reason the fawns never learned to jump even after seeing other deer jump in and out of this fence lol. So these fawns, now grown doe, have lived inside this fence for years now because they never learned to jump. I have seen this happen in 3 separate instances! I just thought it was interesting and shared it haha.
