Optimum dwell setting for full pooty bolt?

just need a little help with getting my settings right, i have the full pooty bolt in my vanquish with the rhino spring as well. i'm trying to get the smoothest shot possible while still getting atleast 7 pods. would i want to use a higher or lower dwell setting?

also... i haven't used the bolt without the spring in it since i've had my vanquish this year, now that it's warmer i'm considering taking it out, what effects will this have as well, as far as smoothness and efficiency.

thanks for any help!

Stock settings are best. Lowering the dwell won't really do much except put less stress on the bumper o-rings. If you lower the dwell enough you might get more efficiency but it may affect velocity consistency/reliability.

Follow the Vanquish Tuning Guide for the results you want: http://www.pbnation.com/showthread.php?t=3982778

The spring is only to help with First Shot Drop Off (AKA Bolt Stick). It doesn't noticeably affect anything else. If you remove it you should raise your ABS Dwell (Anti Bolt Stick Dwell) setting to compensate for removing the spring.

My ABS dwell is usually around 20ms but it's up to your conditions . If your first shot is hot turn it down. If you first shot is low, turn it up. You should chrono while you adjust it. Don't just go by the numbers I give you. You want to lowest number to get your marker to cycle reliably. Again. you should look at the tuning guide.

Jamie always does an excellent job addressing concerns folks are having with their guns.

I'd love to add, and maybe have Jamie confirm, that you should also be conscious of how you are lubing your Vanquish. Warm weather favors thinner lubricant and colder weather favors a thicker lubricant. Personally, I use Vitamin G on 50+ degree days and sl33k on <50 degree days. In a pinch, you can mix a couple of drops of gun oil in with your dow 33 to make a thinner lubricant great for those warm weather days.

I run my Vanquishes without the spring and my ABS dwell is also typically around 20ms.
