That is correct- although I have not tried using one of those so I personally cannot comment on compatibility.
Please update here and let us know if you go that route and it works.

That will not work. Inoviq boards will only function with Inoviq chips. With that said, chips from the green Inoviq boards will not function on the black Inoviq boards and chips from the black boards don't work in the green boards.

If you have a Green Inoviq board that accepts chips you will have to find someone with an Inoviq 1.9 coded chip to get to 12.5.

Only other option I know of is to find a Virtue board or maybe an APE Raiders board but I am not 100% sure on the APE doing 12.5 as I have never had one.

i dont understand... ive read on Zdspb that they are "upwardly compatible" or something like that and that the boards were just "dm45c clones"

soooo confused right now

I haven't every heard or read that but that doesn't mean a whole lot. I looked all over Andy site (zdspb) and couldn't find that reference.

Only boards that I know of, other than the DM4/5/C's that could use the Virtue chips, were the white Lucky boards that accepted chips. Lucky made 3 different boards for the Quest but none of them used chips that could be changed.

I don't think I am but I could be wrong, shoot "Ynda" a PM that is Andy, he may be able to get this straight.

If by chance the Virtue chip will work, I would look around before I paid the price in the link you posted. I got a brand new from ANS about 2 years ago for like 25. Used it in a White Lucky Timmy board

That is really cool. Obviously I didn't look there. If I still had my stuff ( Demo222 bought me out ) I would try it as I have access to a DM chip.

To answer you original question, yes if you get the DM chip you will use the manual you have linked.

Are you sure you don't have a 1.9 coded chip in that 2.2 Inoviq board?

When you try and go into programming mode, what colors does the led flash?

I got it today

when I go into programming mode it flashes a bunch of colors

programing colors as follows:

Red (pretty sure this is dwell) 12
white 3
blue 3
green 10 (my gut tells me denounce)
teal 10
purple 1
yellow 7

I tried changing all of them to activate ramping but nothing seem to change. Except for red... I didn't mess with that.

gun is chronoed to 280 but is 10 on my clock. Not really going to cut it so I'll try the drilling first.

gotta get those chips!

According to the manual you posted:

Purple: Firing Mode

Green: Debounce

Blue: Ramp Activation Speed

White: Ramp Percentage

Red: Dwell

Teal: Eye Sensitivity

Yellow: AMB (Anti-Mechanical Bounce)

Flickering Green: ABS (Anti-Bolt Stick)

Flickering Red: Max Rate of Fire

Inconsistency is usually either reg related or dwell related, since dwell is longer than the usual 8-10ms, it's probably going to be reg related; have you rebuilt the regulators? Drilling through the set screw can only help.

I actually have not put the virtue chip in yet...

this is just the invoiq board that says REV 2.2 on it...

I think I read somewhere that if on boot sequence it does not do the blue and purple that it is the first revision.

I'll definitely see about the vent holes

Thought you had the virtue chip in already. Either way, let us know how it turns out (the vent holes work for some floating poppet HPR's as well, including the quest's stock HPR).

You are correct, if you don't get the blue then purple it is not 1.9 code.
