I personally DO NOT mind traveling... Let's get that part clear. The 62k miles that I put on my car a year can prove that... The point I have is changing the venue to somewhere further away than it already was with only a month to plan AND directly after a PSP event that our team is playing makes it incredibly difficult. If you are going to add another venue to the schedule it needs to be done with more time for planning. If a field backs out, put the event somewhere that the teams are already used to going. That makes more sense…. If they want to add DZ to the schedule next year I am completely cool with that and down to check out a new field, but throwing it in right now just doesn’t seem like the correct way to go about it. We have all already been put in a bind having 3 events in a one month period... If the PSP event was in Cali per-say it would be alright I would think, but having these events this close together and having the closest national event to us right in between has caused an overload to all the players I would say.

Asylum is probably the most central location for all players. Those driving up from parts of the South and those who drive from the north. The facility is already equipped to handle what the msxl needs. No prep time needed.

Not to overstate anything or anyone.

Everybody wants to expand paintball horizons, see new venues, make more people wanna play...

Here is the prime chance to do it. Give drop zone a chance and let Mo and his field show you he can do it.

Mo runs a great venue and great tournament. Give Drop Zone a crack at it.
Never argue with an Idiot. They will drag you down to their level and beat you with Experience!

It's not the WILL to WIN, but rather the WILL to PREPARE to WIN that will make the difference!

It's a regional series, I already drive 5 hours to get to asylum. Putting it that far north makes it a national level drive for me. That would be an hour less drive than World Cup for me. Before it is pointed out, I do not play plex events due to the same reason. Growing the sport north will hurt the sport south. You would be swapping loyal teams that have played for a while for new teams up north who may or may not travel south to asylum.

The date was the major problem with this event. 4th of july weekend is an awful time for a paintball event. Expanding the series into Ohio will certainly draw more teams to the series. There are already at least 4-5 ohio teams in the msxl every event and I can imagine the event hosting another 5-6 new teams if its at DZ. Obviously the Asylum locals are going to call for the event to be there and the Ohio locals will say give drop zone a chance. The "this is the mid south xball league" argument was already invalidated by the choice to have an event north of Chicago. Having played at drop zone and asylum both I'm confident that it will be a good time either way.
Back for the love of the game after a long break.

It's almost like the MSXL would prefer the TN players to just play MILP being this far north.

Yes we are the Mid South Xball league. MILP was not in existence when we formed. We used to push south until they got up and running. We are geographically challenged. The Plex, DZ and Asylum are the only fields capable of hosting our series within six hrs of Asylum or me. Yes you can drive to a National or two in similar time. You will still pay $2500-$3000 entries... Yes if you live in TN MILP may make more sense in travel time. But on the other hand we have a more experienced staff and ref crew so it's a trade off. Having all the events at Asylum last year in part led to the first decline for the MSXL since we started. This year we are setting attendance records.
Thank you for playing the MSXL
