just my 2 cents
QFT.
They like to do that with their pants I've noticed..
Reason I like my Dye UL's is that they are simple with just the word Dye lettering on each leg.

Haha we hear you guys, trust me. A few, more then a few changes are coming. These were just test pants, we added the stars to see how they'd hold up to wear and tear.

Thanks for the suggestions and stay tuned.

It's good to see all of these companies moving toward lighter, more athletic gear. Not that the existing gi pants are heavy though. They are still pretty light in comparison. But brands like empire and planet eclipse, those pants are just TOO padded. The dye UL's are sick. These look promising. HK has a nice medium.

In short, let my knee pads be my knee pads.

Not everyone wears knee pads though. A former teammate of mine didn't because his pants had enough and he liked it more, but I see where you're going.

I'm must be one of the few that like the stars on the thighs.

Is the general consensus that people would like a plainer pant?

I think so Nick. Way to much over-branding.

Yes Nick, something less busy. I would say, basically the same thing minus the stars. Make the crotch logo a little smaller. Now there aren't really any pictures on the back of the pant, but one piece of feedback that I would have about the past pants, is the back "arch" of labeling made it look like you were sagging your pants. I showed pictures of myself playing to my parents and they looked at me like I was nuts and asked why my pants were hanging off me. When of course they weren't. That's something I hear a lot of people mention about they gi pants.
My .02
Thanks for listening

While I actually don't mind the little stars, maybe a bit darker shade of gray so they don't jump out as much. The main star a bit smaller, more like a buckle, even a bit oversized buckle would actually look awesome imo.

yes...i think dye as a company has hit the nail on the head when it comes to simple designs. The empire contact zero pants were awesome in terms of design as well

edit: slimming them up a bit and moving the crotch higher helps with movement too imo

One can only wish but I doubt they are willing to pay royalties to Crye or make a similar pattern which would warrant a cease and desist letter. Same thing happened to Empire. However, I wouldn't be surprised if they have camo accents like before but where's the fun in that?

Personally I like them as is, but also second the camo option(s). Mostly because I LOOOOOOVE my multicam-ish herald pant. Keep me posted Nick, would love a pair of these

Less busy looks more professional in my opinion. Dye teams are the most professional looking teams because the gear is so simple yet stylish. Not saying GI gear doesn't look good. But, companies like Planet eclipse and empire sometimes go way over the top.
