Why are all magfeds based on a biga$$ AR15 rifle

Why don't they be different and do REAL CQC versions with short stocks, so you can use sights and reddots without needing a massive riser.
And you really don't need more than an 8" barrel.

Why aren't they more like the SIG MPG?

I don't know about you guys. But most of the paintballing is pretty much CQC anyway.

Couldn't agree more. Unless you are just about strictly shooting first strikes, there is no need.

Even if you do shoot first strike, you don't need a big huge rifle.
I wish the M17 had a short stock available. Instead I have to make my own. As well as a smaller front shroud.

That's why I am not interested in the T15. If they made a true CQC version, mit would be interesting.

The riser gives clearance when wearing a mask. You need an offset stock like the ROC Stock from Killjoy...I think...

I have no problem using a reddot without a riser on my M17. I did have to add a 3/4" riser to my microdot some lines up properly with my magnifier.

I wish they made a ROC Stock for the M15.

I totally agree.I can appreciate you mods you've done Henchman to make your Milsig more compact
I did some "research" on the best style firearm replica guns with the best ADS by taking my mask to my local air soft store and trying a few out for size and asking their gun techs what they thought
Found several better alternatives.G36(built in riser, side folding stock)Tommy gun(low stock position)UMP .45(side folding stock) Enfield L86(bullpup with integrated riser)and Kriss Vector (side folding stock) to be some of the best.Led me to build a handmade Vector
Attribute this mostly to a side folding stock,a ROC stock would be a great alternative.
I think the M4 has become the standard as its "America's rifle",lots of real steel aftermarket parts can be adapter easily. Also found with the high stock position a side folding stock didn't help much, really needs a riser still.I think the DAM is the only production magfed that has really addressed the ADS issue

I was really excited when the MGM K1 was announced. Not sure if these ever really went up for sale or not though. Pretty neat concept all the same.

Whatever happened to the K1? I was so excited for it when it was announced, then it just....disappeared.

pistols? you do not need a stock really anyway with paintball as there is no recoil.

btw, wasn't the stark guys releasing some dapters for their mags for other guns? something like this perhaps?

well tiberius and rap4 are gonna stick with an ar platform since it's what their less lethal and police training customers will want. Kingman went with an ar cuz they don't do much original designs anymore. And most players don't care

And then there's the ATS AT-85 (if you can find one)

but if you want magfed+milsim, I think the AR platform is where it's at because the biggest market is the States and the States' favourite toy is the AR platform. And when you make the marker mil-spec, the LEGO-factor comes into play quite vividly with all the bolt on accessories.

Lets see theres the TGR1 based on a SCAR.

then there is the recently announced bullpup marker series from Maxtact/Honorcore.

Two versions shown on the net.

and the g36 series.

all of thes are not based on the AR platform while only the TGR1 is out currently of these the others are slotted for a 2014 release.
Honorcore is comprised of Maxtact, Scarab Arms, Milsig.ca

Having a stock has nothing to do with recoil. It is to have a more stable shooting platform for better accuracy and control.

Too bad there are not more 12 gram options. I'd like to have the ability to get 40 shots off a 12 gram and then change it with my 4th clip.

Exactly.
Especially when shooting first strikes.

I'm a fan boy of the ATS just because you can mod them to be long for the sniper look or short for the CQB look. Not mine but some dude mod this and I think he did a really good job. Nice, clean look. Can be made to have a smaller profile than a CQC M17, holds more rounds -25 rounds and full auto capable marker. But like Devlin123 mentioned, good luck finding one.

It doesn't seem that the ATS is that much more compact than the CQC without the airthru stock. Mine is pretty compact with an 8" barrel and shorter shroud.
Although mine is a little bigger with the RoC Stock.

I've also heard that the ATS is a pain for maintenance. I had looked into the ATS before getting the m17. It's too bad they didn't stay around.

I do like that short shroud in the bottom picture.
What is that?

Yeah, both the M17 and the ATS in this format looks very compact. But the ATS is 1.5 inch shorter than the CQC measured from the end of the ASA to the front of the receiver.

Modern markers like the m17 are made for ease of break down and easy maintenance. The ATS not so much (remember the ATS was first introduced in 1995). And parts are hard to come these days. With that said, I've had no issues with my ATS since 2011 and I can't even remember last time I had a break in the breach and I've held my own with First Strike competitions with T4, T9, DAM and even the XDC in my area.
