the water looked like chocolate malt and you could smell mud like 500 feet away from the thing. the road was closed so i jogged down to it, i could smell strait dirt before i could see or hear the water

That's crazy. I don't do much river fishing, but we have a small creek not far from my house that used to flood really badly that when we had big rains it would get that way, but not nearly to the extent of that picture.

dang, was hoping to get out on the kayak this afternoon and catch my moby dick but severe thunder storms are gonna hit soon. Gonna make a trip to the pond down the road and try to get some shore fishing in before it starts. Rain needs to stop so I can try my luck out on the river. Also picked up a bunch of new bait to try out as well.

We had storms coming in all day, so i left the yak at home, and hit my normal spot. went 4 for 5 on trout. 3 rainbows, 1 brown. Brown was 18" and fat

Got home, and had a huge package waiting for me...
My cooler/rod holders for the jet ski came in!

fits pretty good. gotta add a raiser to the one set of legs(they extend down, but there isnt much threading left on them, so i feel more comfortable using something to raise it), and get a bigger cooler that fits better

While installing it, i got a phone call that the dealer i got it from got my plates and registration in!
She will be ready for splashdown hopefully by next week

Went offshore finally a couple weeks ago. Had a blast!

Trying to pull in an amberjack, felt like I was reeling a Volkswagen.

mmmmm tuna... but what'd you do with those AJs? I usually throw them back because I don't really know what to do with them cooking wise.

Also, I don't know if Bam or anyone familiar with the Tampa area is still around, but i'm probably going to try fishing tampa next weekend. Probably the skyway bridge, was looking for some advice out there. I've fished all of South Florida, but only fished the west coast a couple of times.

Plan on blackening and making some fish tacos with some more. I haven't got around to cooking any yet. Between six guys we all ended up with 40-50lbs of tuna and a good 30 of aj, my freezer is jam packed with fish and no room for anything else.

smaller ones arent too fishy.
the larger ones, bleed em out, then after filleted, soak them in milk. takes out alot of the strong fish taste of em.

No one really eats them here, so when I catch them thinking im fighting a nice mutton and see the bluefish its a bit disappointing, but a few guys from up north have said they can be pretty good.

yeah, i like em.
to "combat" the strong flavor, i like mine grilled. Wrap the fillet in foil, and put a healthy dose of salsa on top. gives it a nice flavor, some kick(if you use a hotter variety), and tastes good.
But, i also like almost any fish ive ever tried.

was reading on a forum, that today the bite disappeared.... one guy couldnt buy a bite from the blues.
Still going to make the trip to check the house out since its completed, and wet a line.
Even if fishing sucks.... its still fishing

Went bass fishing the last few days and caught some nice fish between myself and my friend who was fishing with me. I don't know if any of you have tried the scatter rap series of cranks but they made me a believer these past few days. Ill try to get a few pics posted later of some of the fish but we didn't take many. Cranks, swim jig, Texas rigged ribbon tail worms caught 90% of our fish with a couple frog, senko and beaver fish thrown in.

throw the AJ's back? no way! ive only had it once but it was really, really good. they just pan seared it with salt and cracked peper iirc. bluefish, on the other hand, is gnarly. gotta soak that in milk if you want me to even touch it.

this popped up on my facebook feed from PA...TRIPLE RAINBOW AHHHHHHHHHHH!

he might have done it over time and froze them. otherwise i would think he netted them. i bet they were dumb hatchery fish and it was like shooting fish in a barrel (i have no idea if they are native there, i highly doubt it though).

oh, and only $8k fine...that seems way too low.

That's what I thought, Louisiana wildlife and fisheries caught a couple guys with 909 red snapper and they got slapped with 40k-80k in fines. http://www.wlf.louisiana.gov/news/29898

In the article they were hatchery fish, said they released 10,000 of them in a years time.

yea that makes a lot more sense. i bet if it was in cali/oregon/washington and someone did this they would see a much larger fine. those hatchery trout are dumber than dirt. they dont spook like the ones that have been in the systems for years and they will hit anything.

it also seems like fines on marine wildlife are MUCH higher than freshwater stuff. i know if you are caught wiht a lake sturgeon or paddlefish in ohio you are looking at a big time fine or jail time.

oh jesus yea i was right. they violated a lot more than poaching laws but you get the idea:
