Changing air system

Is it possible to change either my 98 custom or my Spyder MR3 from CO2 to either HPA or nitrogen?

Yep, it will work fine on HPA. Just make sure you get a tank with a regulator with a higher output pressure (I'd stay away from any SLP or LP tanks). Standard or high pressure output will be perfect for anything that was designed around CO2. If you pick up a Ninja tank with the adjustable reg, you'll be in good shape.

Thank you for the replies guys, now for a newb question. Would there be any advantages to changing my blow back markers from CO2 to HPA?

It's 'cleaner' on the seals as you're not going to get the icing like you would see with co2, especially during rapid firing. So your seals will last longer and you should see better consistency as HPA doesn't have pressure swings like co2 does when the air temperature changes.

Most fields use HPA on their rental Tippmanns. IT will be fine.

You also won't have shootdown, co2 expands at a certain rate by temperature, the colder outside the longer it takes the co2 to expand, meaning inconsistency and low fps.
