Are you a Budget Baller, Weekend Warrior or both?

For Weekend Warrior, like tlmiller said, just try to have fun. Hopefully you are near a field that gets good attendance and has some good rec competition

Last time i played was in 2006 at the PSP World Cup in Disney Orlando, since then i've been working a lot, the paintball set up i used back then was a blue and yellow Ton Ton SFT Shocker, Empire Reloader B and 68/4500 Crossfire HPA tank, i recently bought a brand new black Etek 4 LT, Dye Rotor v3 and a 68/4500 Empire basic tank.

Have fun and if you're looking to change your game up, try hopper ball - it's a lot of fun!

Your most important purchases, in this order;

1. Best mask money can buy

2. best elbow pads money can buy

3. best kneepads money can buy

4. best tank money can buy

5. best paint you can play with

everything else is negotiable

Here is the order that I recommend: best mask possible, electric loader to put on a rental, hpa tank for a rental, finally the marker of your choosing that you can afford. Pants, pads and all that are just extras for later, my list covers the essentials.

"Pants, pads and all that are just extras for later"

If your diving or crawling through dirt, grass, and rocky soil (or even turf fields), kneepads and elbow pads can be the difference between getting injured and being just fine. Can't tell you how many band aids I've had to stick on my knees and elbows because I was stupid and forgot to wear proper padding. Not fun having a bleeding gash on your elbow the size of a dollar.

I must agree with PBBlastah. Knee/elbow pads are a must and the more older I get, the more valuable those pads become to me.

After playing for the first time in eight years a couple weeks ago (indoor), I remembered why pads were on my to-buy list before I stopped playing years ago.

One the greatest things about kneepads especially...is when it comes to snap shooting. Being able to sit on your knees, pop in and out the bunker, with zero discomfort, is just wonderful. Man was not meant to live on his knees!

I found that I just used a variety of padding from other sports and activities like rollerblading and volleyball pads. Which is why I didn't put it as a paintball specific purchase as one may or may not own an alternative already.

There has almost never been a day of play when I would not be hit in the knuckles.
Gloves of any kind will save your hands from bleeding and pain. I prefer cheap thin neoprene weightlifting fingerless gloves.

I'm still pretty new to the sport and I planned on getting elbow/forearm pads. I got this instead!
