Initial thoughts on the JT Impulse:

Lighter than I thought it would be. Feels similar in weight to the G6R.

Smaller than I thought it would be--thin, short in height, very nice.

Ergonomics are some of the best I've ever felt. EVER. It is perfect with a tank and hopper.

Trigger--WOW. Zero lateral slop, you can't make it budge side to side. Very crisp and clean once dialed in to my preferences. This is as close to an ideal trigger as I've felt.

Very, very impressed. I don't regret this purchase at all and I'm stoked to play with it.

I knew you'd like it. They're surprisingly nice. I just wished they were macroless.

I'd like it even more if it were macroless but considering that's really just superficial, it's not an issue. Avoiding external plumbing can present its own issues so I'm not necessarily biased to either method, although I do prefer the aesthetics of no line. Regardless, I'm very impressed and can't wait to try it out. tlmiller, I think even you would like the ergos on this thing.

Another plus--the Impulse case is the perfect size for the Res so that's where it will now be housed with the barrel kit in the other half. The GI Sportz soft case I have will house the Imp and Axe. Yes, I'm a bit obsessed with proper marker and barrel storage.

I do actually like the ergos. It's everything I wish they would have made the Luxe. My nephew had one for quite some time, and I used it a couple times. Not the BIGGEST fan of the design of the trigger, but it's not horrible at the same time.

On another note, Tim2Thousand is hooking me up with a color matching VIS engine for my new VCOM!!

I wasn't crazy about the trigger until I spent about 10 minutes dialing it in. It's dead nuts now, even better than my Critical Quest trigger that I machined brass shims for. I've never felt a trigger that was so locked in laterally but so frictionless at the same time. It's lovely.

The only gun I've owned that I thought was tremendously uncomfortable was the G6R. I was just not a fan of that gun, but oddly I liked my vice. The marq7 kinda sucked too, but the closer was tits.

I liked the G6R but just not enough to keep it. Fairly comfortable, really light and it shot well. I've got higher expectations for this Impulse and I think I'll like it enough to keep it. I better, considering it's basically brand new.

Irony, how familiar are you with the Impulse valve? I know it's 'balanced' but is less balanced than most other attempts for reliability. Can you go into more detail on the "why's" of that? I'd like to see what kind of efficiency I can get out of it and to do that I'll have to run a bit lower dwell than the stock 12ms, like 10ms. Do you see any potential issues lowering the dwell? The only thing that I can think of is the actual poppet travel seems to be very small (like 1/8") so I'm not sure it could handle lower dwell settings and higher pressures to compensate.

I really wasn't too familiar with the valve itself, but after looking at it... it's quite over killed. It appears they're using a 90duro urethane faceseal (should have been 90 duro BTW due to compression set characteristics and seal type). The spring location is kind of silly.

I can't tell from the pics, but the reverse end that looks like it sits in the LPR body... Is that area purged and if so, then how/ where does it purge? How deep is it? It almost looks like that valve has enough bias to use a ridiculously light spring relocated, a plugged and relocated purge, and an improved profile. Basically, I'm suggesting I'd make as close of a direct copy of the Lurker gen4 control freak poppet as possible. Efficiency could be improved greatly with some rather small mods. Depending on the purge path, most should be drop-in.

I also didn't notice that the ram itself is using 2-stage force system. Is that aluminum or is it stainless?

Andy shipped some of the parts out to get ano'ed, so we're waiting on those to come back.

The ASA/HPR that's in the pics is the prototype one, the production version will be smaller/sexier - we needed it that big so we could debug it; basically needed a way to take the adjustment screw out, and then have the rest of reg fall out without having to take the ASA/HPR off the gun.

I hope to have some video in a few weeks of it shooting, just waiting on the electronics and the ano so we can slap it together.

Can/ will you say a rough estimate on efficiency? 1400-1600shots off a 68/45?

Anyone here ditch cable and use Netflix? How much do you save? My comcast bill is 225 a month (digital tv and phone and internet plus premium channels) and I'm sick of paying that much.

Just wondering what your thoughts are and if you are satisfied with the content.

I don't have cable. I use aereo for local channels and netflix/ amazon prime for the rest... I just use rokus to stream it all.

could also call and cancel the service, and then put it in my wifes name to get a new member bundle...cheap for a year, then jumps up a bit but still a HUGE savings over what I have now.

Most of the time you don't even have to do that. I call every year (Cox not Comcast, but same difference) and change my plan to the latest "promo" bundle. You just have to call them and ask what specials they have to lower your cost and they'll usually do it.

The VCOM performed wonderfully today. Best thing was that I got in a firefight with a guy, and we actually had it so that our paintballs collided midair and exploded. I've seen it in videos before, but actually saw it live in person today. It was AWESOME.

call the cable co and ask to speak with the "retention department" explain that you have been a customer for yada yada years and like their service but that the price is making you consider cancellation. They will typically offer you a reduced rate- play hardball lol. I'm guessing you could bring it down to about 120 from 220.

I've never tried just doing netflix- I don't think it'd work for me. I have netflix and amazon prime but I still want to have cable for live events and stuff.

Miller- that sounds cool- same here, seen it in videos but its never happened to me. some day
