Yeah, the manufacturing process definitely leaves opportunities for growth, which is a good thing. Better to wait and put out a gun as good as it can be then to rush it out and have to apologize for it later.

Add that I do apologize for the length of the delay. When we show the valve change it will help 'a little' to understand the delay - but I do get that it's been looooong time coming.

I'm supportive of offering a base model, great idea to get people to try an alien. This is an underdog gun forsure.

Hey jack just a random side Q: do you ever plan on making a spool (or dump) valve gun? Has it ever been mentioned or thought of? Or is it a no that's not on the road map.
Just wondering if your planning to ever do both or if you'll stay with the whole "a little of each" thing youve got going.

Am hoping for a release before living legends so I can rock it over the weekend and show it off to the group of 24+ players I'll be there with.... But, doesn't seem likely in the face of the media blackout...

I was hoping to have it for LL7 too. Seems unlikely at this point. No worries. I'll have all summer to show it off.

I heard a pretty similar story about how the other manufactures reacted to seeing the deception at extravaganza

Agreed. Everyone who picked up the marker had to pick their jaw off the floor at the same time. Wicked light setup!

Was it the "light set up" or the light internals, and the progression of the poppet valve into more of a spool exhaust of air?
I would guess there are guns that are as light and as large, not many, but some are certainly close. I thought most liked the internals, the lower moving mass, and the venting. That was the jaw dropper.
Independence is a pretty light gun. We added a bit of weight to the Invasion, but it's no brick. Still it was a lot of fun to the reaction as so many came by expecting to see yet another re-milled, some old, same old, and saw something - yea, jaw dropping.

Externally, it was light, clean, aesthetically pleasing, and that particular setup was EXTREMELY well balanced in the hands. *edit: Not to name names here, but a particular big marker series that was released this year (XX14) is significantly heavier than it's predecessors (it weighs 2lbs, 5.5oz), with no new internals....and people are STILL going crazy over it. Seeing a new valve design, with a new body styling, with a new balance and airy feel is refreshing, and it's going to draw a TON of attention.

Internally, it was absolutely elegant. So simple, yet it has the potential to be a game changer on so many levels. Looking forward to mine for sure!

I wish I had a thousand bucks for this marker, it looks so incredible! Definitely going to buy this once I get my new business running and pull in some revenue. Can't wait to see the finished marker! Also, will ANS gear be carrying this product?

Cool

Now without further adieu.....
Here is final version of the gun and the valve system, in Pewter with Black accents

Notice the front grip is a little wider at the front and has a slightly different cut where it narrows to the existing cut on the grip frame and the gun body. Wider for more air storage.
Also the front cap no longer holds the balancing feature but that the valve is a self contained unit.
The valve pin is now Stainless Steel instead of Aluminum, as is the rammer.
The gun at extravaganza had a aluminum insert in the bolt - when that was taken out the ball speed dropped. The gun needed a little more inertia. With the Rammer now about 40% less than the Independence Rammer, the Dwell in this gun is about 7 ms instead of 11ms for Independence.
Front cap is smaller too. Also the spring to close the valve is now much smaller.
One thing that is hard to tell is the new bolt pins now have an aluminum cap that matches the accessory color.

We are hoping to be at Capital Edge Paintball Park in Sacramento this weekend with the gun so players can shoot it and I will be filming the shooting video for the marker. If not this weekend then next. I will also have the gun out the following weekend for the WCPPL event for players to check out.
