Problems with CSL tips CF portion detaching from gold threading piece? (Pics)

So, I've been looking into getting a CSL tip but I've been hearing that there has been a problem with the CF actually detaching from the gold piece thats threaded and attaches to the bottom portion of the barrel. Has anyone else had any problems like this? Here's a picture to show you guys what Im talking about.

My CF tips have been doing fine. I wouldn't worry about it. Even if it does happen it's nothing a little epoxy cannot fix.

Pretty ****ty in my opinion however I don't think this is a super common issue either. What is funny is how much people pay for these kits when they are just OK in quality as far as carbon fiber barrels go.

in a interview with jack wood (i believe it was a hustle video) jack explained he found the CF tips a pain to manufacture and had some tip problems. if i am mistaken please correct me, but for the most part most tips worked flawlessly without any issues. im assuming this was the reason the gsl didnt have CF tips, and plus they were expensive the make apparently jack said.

Awesome man, thanks for the info. I'm highly considering getting one for my 3.1 I was just a little worried about it. I dono if any of you know Many, the guy that has sold like 10 GSLs for like $2,200 +/-. That's his picture, I was going to buy one from him but he was a standup guy and told me about this issue. I just wanted to see if anyone else has had this problem before I pick one up. Thanks to everyone who commented, you guys have been very helpful. I'm looking to get the 14" tip and a white cf boomy back , I think would it would look pretty sick.

If you must have a carbon fiber tip. The Deadlywind tips for the Shaft 4 are very high quality and cost around the same as a normal Shaft 4 barrel tip. The don't have gold on them, but they function just as well.

They are specifically made to fit on the Shaft 4. The quality is also excellent just like their other carbon fiber products (which are probably the best in the industry). Its called a Shaft 4 Whip Tip.

Wow that's pretty legit. I'll deff look into it cuz I want a cf tip badly and if there's a better tip thats much cheeper than thats the route I'll go. Thanks for the info my friend, deff much appreciated

And yes, for $200-$300 (I actualy found some one who is willing to sell me one for $180) the barrel should absolutely not do this and that's why I posted this. I wanted to get some feedback and info from you guys to see if anyone else has had this problem. I appreciate all your help guy's

I don't think they were ever intended to be sold for that kind of price but yeah, they were glued and obviously the quality wasn't really high. They probably should have had them made by one of the industry leaders like Deadlywind, Stiffi, or Sly.

I am sure it was. I wasn't discounting that it was abused, but it still shouldn't come unglued like that.

I've had a csl, the round plastic gold thing isn't hard to pop out over time (its simply the glue cracking). Hence forth the above of new adhesive.

i think it is kind of odd that they are just glued on

A friend on my team picked up a panther csl couple weeks back and had this exact Issue. There was a pe booth at the tournament we were at and they are just going to take the old one a give him a brand new one. No charge. So I would suggest contacting pe. See if you can get the same deal.
