Initial thoughts?

People there, how is it? Web cast is doing surprisingly well, commentators need some help.

How's the turf? Reffing looks pretty laid back on the pro field.

I'm here. It's pretty good quality. I can't speak for the webcast yet. The fields are nice, paint is good, and beautiful weather. Hopefully this will encourage more teams to play the next tournament.

initial thoughts... with the # of teams this league is bringing, it will go under after one season.

GPL/MAPL will make more $ in their first event then APL all season.

I think the league has done a great job, even with the small amount of teams. Everything is going smoothly and I expect more teams to register for the next event.

I think that given time, this league will flourish. I really enjoyed the format, it was nice and laid back like NPPL where you have time to catch a breather, but with an X-ball feel. The reffing was fantastic! They really did a great job making calls, and keeping things running. The event as a whole ran real smoothly, and seemed to just flow really well with this only being the first event. I think that they will continue to work out the minor kinks as a new league, and begin to draw in more teams as time goes on, which means more sponsors. I can't wait for the league to come to our home field at Vegas Xtreme Paintball in Las Vegas, NV. The weather was perfect, the reffing was on point, the paint shot great "HK-Army" and the event went on without a hitch. Great job APL keep up the great work!

As a viewer of the event from my couch, it looked as though the event was ran well. The match ups that I watched were great.

However the webcast needs some work. The things I think they need to work on is as follows:

Commentating: A little to unprofessional for my liking

Sound: Couldn't hear sound on the field. Would have preferred some instead of just the booth mics. Felt disconnected from the action on the field.

Cameras: Change a couple of the views.

But on an overall I was just happy to be able to watch paintball from home. All though it sounds like I'm complaining I assure you that I am not.

I think if the APL can keep the established PRO teams coming back, then it will become a successful tournament series. With out those teams I feel they will struggle to have a sustainable series with their current format, not saying it is a bad format.

Wishing the APL the best of luck this opening season for them. And I hope I have the opportunity to try an event out this year.

I thought it was good. Got better as the event went on.

Things to improve:

1. Get the same announcer to do all the games. Similar to a Matty Marshall. You can do guest color commentators but someone that can concentrate on just that job will make it better.

2. Already in the works, but a few more camera angles. Maybe something different in camera angles like behind the starting box for the break outs with split screen. I would also like to hear better on field noise. Seems very distant from the action.

3. Hopefully they can get everything together and the team attendance will pick up.

They should drop pro and just be a little league feeder series

It'll be here in Vegas and I doubt I'll go then. And it's only a couple miles down the road.Unless the pro div turns into what the psp has with the big names

Watched the webcast and thought it was great! I agree some more field volume would be nice. I really don't care about the commentating if I have great views of the field. However, that Destiny player who kept creeping on the screen, flapping her alien ears was so annoying! I mean it was funny once or twice, but for a whole hour... C'mon now!

The webcast had it flaws, but well above my expectations. Looks like the event ran smoothly, and as done well. If this pace can continue the league will have a chance of being successful. Time will tell, but good start.

And for the love of god, please get a consistent on-screen scoreboard/clock (at least day 2 they turned a clock towards the camera, lol). Would like to know who I'm watching on each side of the field, especially when there are only two familiar pro teams.

I think we all wanted one. There were some technical issues hopefully it gets worked out soon.
